| Found 81 CJ7 but it has no title and a broken rear shackle mount. Looking for a trail rig that can be tagged. What's it take to repair with a new shackle mount? (it comes with 2 new ones). And how would I find a title to get this thing on the street? These two things are keeping me from picking it up...well, and I don't have a trailer to bring it home but that can be rented. _________________ 05 TJ 6cyl 6spd, D30/D44 3.73, open/open, 2" BB, 1" BL, BFG AT 33s, steering box skid 83 CJ7 258 w/weber carb, 4.56's, AMC 20 rear with Superior 1-piece axles and Detroit locker, T-5, D300, 4" lift on 33's |

| you will need to have someone with a welder and grinder help you out with the shackel mount. Its not hard if you have a hookup. The title is going to be a little of a pain in the ass. I would get the vin number off the CJ and go to your local DMV and see what they need to get you a title. You might be able to do it with a bill of sale and the current owner present with you. What are you going to tow the jeep home with? Careful with buying a Cj since there getting old 21 year or older there aren't many in very good shape. look out for Rust. But if you find one is good shape its a very simple Jeep to learn how to work on and toy with. _________________ 2008 ADA run - Trail Master (all questions welcome)

| If you decide to purchase one let me know and we can trailer it home for you. I am in harford county so not far from you. No sense in paying to rent a trailer. _________________ Best Quote "BACK UP, TAKE THE SKIRT OFF AND DRIVE" ---taken from KGB/CREEPER member.

| That's great, thanks. CJ is out because of the title thing. Sucks cuz it's looks to be in good shape for the year. Looking at a few others... if I need that trailer will let you know...of course, would hook you up with gas $ and a few brews _________________ 05 TJ 6cyl 6spd, D30/D44 3.73, open/open, 2" BB, 1" BL, BFG AT 33s, steering box skid 83 CJ7 258 w/weber carb, 4.56's, AMC 20 rear with Superior 1-piece axles and Detroit locker, T-5, D300, 4" lift on 33's |

i think its the same cj he was talking about... that guy has been trying to sell it for a long while. he wants too much money for it with no title. hes trying to part it now... http://baltimore.craigslist.org/pts/467459787.html
one of his old posts he was willing to sell it for less partally stripped and still no title. at one point i thought of getting it, strip it, and sell or use the parts.
id stay away from it without a title... |

| Yep that's the one....seemed a bit shady without the title but didn't know how much of a pain in the ass it would be.... _________________ 05 TJ 6cyl 6spd, D30/D44 3.73, open/open, 2" BB, 1" BL, BFG AT 33s, steering box skid 83 CJ7 258 w/weber carb, 4.56's, AMC 20 rear with Superior 1-piece axles and Detroit locker, T-5, D300, 4" lift on 33's |

| getting a title is a pain when it comes to the MVA. the previous owner has to sign it over to you which you know he wont.. . any vehicle is worthless without a title. id offer him $100.00 for the whole thing as is with no title. id give him maybe close to his full asking price with a title, and more than full price for a title AND state inspection. when it comes to selling a vehicle, most people dont realize that having all the right paperwork included in the sale is half the battle and worth at least half to 3/4 of thier asking price. it will help them sell thier vehicle easier for the money they want or at least close (or more) to it after haggling. |
