| driving the new jeep today and a funny sound started comming from the front end once the jeep got to 25-30mph or faster. After messing around with it I figured the sound was comming from the front diff. i guess its time for a rebuild on those bearings. _________________ "A yahoo made dangerous with power tools"

| Hey Joe how long did the new jeep sit with out being driven? It could be they have rusted up, if there was any water in the front end while it sat. _________________ 94YJ locker/spool, lifted 37" MTR's lots of cool stuff (Trail rig) 00WJ open/open, lifted 31" MTR's (curbcrawler) 84 Toyota Pickup open/welded, 33's solid front axle and rusted frame 07 FORD E350 SD (TOW VAN)

| Yeah but the internals are a different story. the outside has rain then dry air and sun to dry it. But i have seen internals that have water in them rust in months cause there is no way to dry them up. Thats the only way I can figure how I got little rust spots on my front locker. cause the seal went bad and water go in a sat for a month. _________________ 94YJ locker/spool, lifted 37" MTR's lots of cool stuff (Trail rig) 00WJ open/open, lifted 31" MTR's (curbcrawler) 84 Toyota Pickup open/welded, 33's solid front axle and rusted frame 07 FORD E350 SD (TOW VAN)

| looks like I dodged a bullet. Turns out it was a bad hub bearing. Luckly I had two at the shop off a donor zj that I bought so I was able to advoid the $121 price tag for a new one. Once I got her put back together I ran her up to PA and back. No major problems and she even did real good on the highway. Though I think i'm still going to trailer it to R.C. next weekened. Knock on wood I may of lucked out and got a good jeep out of this deal. _________________ "A yahoo made dangerous with power tools"

| Joe, I just got my copy of the JP mag and on page 68 they have an article about the Orvis (Grand Cherokee) prep for off road, looks like something you might want to check out. _________________ MRR-Founder/President Mid-Atlantic-FWDA-Vice President Sales Rep for Adams Suzuki/Used Cars-n-Trucks Cell 443-865-0504 myspace.com/marylandrockraiders |
