Will see about the Pirate jeep. What do you think about this? (overkill?) Jay found it, is 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ but not automatic.

long way to go for a buggy. Transfer case will not live with 42" tires. Not an automatic either. Has potential though. Chris?

yeah other than the motor trans and t-case there isn't much jeep that is left. I would swap the trans for a auto (maybe TF-999 or TF-727) then put a atlas or a stak behind it.

just my .02 not much there to start with frame and tube may be OK motor may be OK for awhile trans and t-case wont have the range you need for racing shocks may hold up for some races but there not coil overs seat do not pass tech for racing and I hate to say it but the tires might be a little big for racing (never thought i would say that) we will see what Chris says but it will be hard to take a rock crawl rig and make it a good racer most people build crawl rigs for slow runs no good high range or the extra safety stuff just some thoughts.

The trans & transfer case shouldn't be a big deal to switch out the ball joint D60 is something to think about ball joints are a lot weeker than king pins on older D60's so are the unit bearings i think they will fail often
