New forum sections under construction

Subject: New forum sections under construction Wed Feb 21, 2007 3:00 am

There are new sections to the forum. And more are under construction. The bases for these are to unite all under this forum while keeping some things private and for club members only. The meetup will still be in use and the photos are based there. This will be changing as the week goes on. More info will be put out as needed.

I am still working on the gallery site for inside the forum and for members personal gallery. There is now a link button on the top of the forum for going directly to the meetup photo gallery. Non meetup members should not be able to see.

There is now a portal feature added. I will be probably changing the name though. You can use this button to view things differently. And has many cool features. This is of course a work in progress and as time allows i will be upgraded it.

Okay there is the new portal feature. It has many improvements and info at a glance. The calendar and forum body are now in it also. you will not be directed to the portal as a homepage. Your homepage stays as normal for now. What i am looking for is feed back to this design, likes or dislikes. As we are trying to make this as one touch and simple as possible. If all members decide they like the new feeds and the feel and look of the portal it will become a new homepage for the forum. So please any feed back will be appreciated. Also the chat box is moduled on there also. As for the gallery it will have to wait till a later date. For now the header button link takes you to the meetup gallery.

Also i know there are still some "text scripting errors showing in the protal" i am just waiting till i get input. then i will clean these errors off.

New flash slide show player in portal. of course i have to upload these but. if you like this feature we can redesign things to have more on this space and take out some of the other things. And yes Kat i will send you your movie clip tongue

As everyone can see there are new things or design changes going on in the forum. As stated before please either post or pm me your inputs. We may not be able to suit everyones taste but we are trying hard to make this a colorful and user freindly site. The text colors have been changed and Nick and I are currently working on a logo that seems to blend well with the forums natural theme. Also I am in the process of designing new buttons for the header bar. You will see they are turned on. There is more work to be done with this feature. But please let me know if you like the header buttons or just the text.

It got to wide. I have to scroll across to see all the info now. As far as logo, I liked the one with the bricks the best so far. I'm glad to see the lack of little American flags waving. I sorta don't mind being part of a brotherhood, but I don't make a very good marine.

Okay I removed a non used button and that mad the aspect ratio smaller. Sorry about that. On my comp the widescreen covered it all without scrolling. As for the logo I think i am goin to set up a vote in the protal with all the logo ideas for the club to vote. I should have that done by tomorrow.

Here is an Idea Mr. Wizard; how about designing a flag with the logo on it. Make the flag red or Deep orange, the original desing onthe logo waving proudly, now that would be something....

Okay with the logo as said i will post some in the portal that are designed and if any one has any suggestion as Tico as said for something all new so to speak. Lets take a vote of this. The board can decide if it is the whole club vote or a board only.

Okay I cleaned somethings up in the last two nights. I have been swamped at work and havent got to do much with the site lately. You may notice i changed things with the background and stuff. I think it looks cleaner. Also I changed the portal configs around. THe videos are now in a whole new page. On either the Portal or the Index you will now see before the chat box. A message box with upcoming events and coloered links for different things. Enjoy!
