We are going to do a jamboree in 08 and wanted to get some opinions from those who have attended. (Kim & Jay would you please post or pm me with the details again of your experiences...especially Catskills.) Prefer to stick to east coast...Maine to NC.

Wife and I just did catskills. I liked the all inclusive meals (less hassle) and the site food (mr. Willys) is good, and theres a bar. About 6 hours from Ft. Meade area. Camping at the main meeting point in a field under power lines, and a porto shower. People real friendly. I had a blast on the trails but with all of them you have large groups - 15-20 jeeps so its hurry and wait. Mud was thick goop not like the watery mud splash at rausch. My second day was a lot better even though it was a lower rated trail, the guides saw that a couple of us were noobs and did some side stuff that was tougher. Weather was not too hot which can be a bitch in the summer. We will probubly go back http://www.catskillsjeepjamboree.com/index.html (I'm in the whispering woods photo set from this year)

Feedback on other places - Vermont was ok but hotel expensive since it is in resort areas. Not a lot of trails. NJ - pine barrens, flat and sandy.

i did snowshoe last year and will be doing it again this year. i'd stick to more aggresive trails where the guides spotting are better. i ended up spotting for friends and other jeepers when the guide kept getting them hung up.
