Well when i tore into the wall I removed 2 layers of wallpaper, 10 layers of paint, 1/4" drywall, 2 layers of the old wood looking paneling, followed by 1/4" plywood and then finally to the original walls....yep you guessed it slats and plaster to expose the original 2x4(actual dimention) framed wall.
The Plywood I put up was 23/32 thickness used in an attempt to bring the wall out to match the floor and the stairwell to avoid gaps. I'm in the process of putting 1/2" drywall on top of it now. It will be finished with paint.

yeah, believe it or not it is good to take a break from the jeep once in awhile. got to the point of analysis paralysis with the CJ. Need to order parts and wait for them to come in. Still looking for a reputable company to build or purchase the th400. Was just going to be wallpaper in teh living room but I wanted to open the wall while we were messing with it anyway. also doing the foyer so we make the downstairs mess just once. Elva has decided to go with wood floors in the dining room to match the foyer and living room. thats easy stuff though, just takes time.
