OK changed my mind again I think.. I say to hell with the ford motor/tranny/tcase idea. When the current drivetrain breaks I'll swap the front axle to passenger drop and keep it all Chevy.

It might be a little bit of a head ache but when the chevy guys want a high pinion 60 they taken your axle and retube it so it becomes a pass drop like the chevy axles.

agreed. it's the most logical way to handle it. Looking at it finiancially it costs more to convert and aquire the ford parts than it does to just have the tubes swapped. By the way AOI in westminster is going to warranty my damaged axleshaft for me.

Got a lot done this weekend. Cage is getting closer to being done. Bell housing cover is on, engine oil tube is installed and sealed, Steering box brace is installed.
Got help from Von and Kat on saturday and Nester spent about 4 hours welding the cage, (he did want some experience at that). The extra set of hands was greatly appreciated. Thank you guys very much.

Bill welding was fun. Hopefully the CJ will be ready soon so we can work on getting your bar king and game room setup and the cage in the Toy worked out

Picked up 60 more feet of tubing today. tried to buy some 4" plate to work more on boxing in the frame but the retailer said he was out. Turns out there was a 6 month surplus in their suppliers warehouse and is just about out. HE said once it is gone there will be a wait for more steel and the price is going to go up very soon. if anyone is going to buy a good bit of steel anytime soon then you may want to do it now.

that cage turned out great. For the shocks, what size did you need? I purchased a set of rancho shocks that were two big that I was going to try to use but if they fit yours, your more then welcome to use them.

Well since I haven't welded on any shock mounts yet I can make just about anything fit. how many shocks do you have and what is the length compressed and extended?
