PostSubject: PSC Tube fender install   Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:34 pm

So I finally finished installing my PSC tube fenders. I picked them up, used, from a member of Maryland Jeep Club (Skylar) for a pretty good price. I took them up to Keystone Koating in Litiz, PA.

They baked the old paint off, sand blasted them, undercoated them with a zinc-rich epoxy coating and then powder coated them a 35% gloss black. The cost per fender was $25.00....unbelievable.!!!!....cheapest I found anywhere.

The install was a learning process..as is anything when you attempt something for the first time....all said and done not to difficult of a job, just a little time consuming. I can't thank my buddy Tom and my Dad for all there help during this install...

Here are some pics ...

I downloaded a template from PSC to draw some guidelines of how much fender to cut

First cut finished

2nd cut on first fender

Had to notch the battery tray

Rear Crusher Corners....not much cutting at all for these, just some minor trimming for the tail lights.....and drilling/cutting for some access holes inside the body in order for socket access to the nut..one on each side where the seatbelt assembly is and on the inside rear corners where the tailgate is

Relocated the turn signal/parking lamps to the front of the grille with some replacement lamps for a CJ

dude.. dont even bother bringing it down.. Once I saw that pic it is definitely bent. Lets look under it at your house and see what else we can see and get the parts and then bring it down to align..

call me later..Im off wednesday if you are free..

IM going to call my buddy today and pick one up.. that is a stock front end setup isnt it??

It might be a good time to upgrade unless you can get stock stuff cheap. Looks good Chris all you need now is a cage and to loose the hardtop.

I can get a new tie rod for about $90, then I would like to upgrade to high steer in the near future?

I am calling Chris today from SPP 4x4 about fabing a cage for me. Hopefully he can get it done by the 10th for the comp. Ideally I would drop it off this weekend for him.

Thanks for the input everyone!
