Tony, you are gonna be dangerous if you ever start to build your Jeep...It's cool to watch the "stocker" just do chit!

Galen,

Thanks mbn All though I am not sure dangerous is such a good thing... hehehe... if that is the case, roll cage is first mod after all the repairs from this run... hehehe.

Scratch that... a second vehicle to drive if I am in-operable... then roll cage... hehehe.

What a blast.

The Jeep is still a mud mess. I am off to the washers now.

It has been the talk of the town since I got home... all the neighbors came out to see it, asked where I went... a few jeep owners on the street asked for club info (gave em your card Tico).

I got to work and no one recognized my truck... not 1 person. Only when they saw the liscence plate did they know it was me, and then all i heard when they saw me has Holy S@*&. It became the punishment of the day... "Who ever doesn't do xyz has to go wash Tony's Jeep.". Never saw the store more productive.

But the proudest moment I got... I was at a red light getting on to 100 after work, a gentleman stopped beside me, rolled down his window and yelled to me "NOW THAT is what a Jeep should look like!!! Nice job buddy."

Sadly... now I must go and clean it Sad ... but not before I get a few more pics in.

Von - If you need hands call me... I will pm you my number... "will work for knowledge cheers ". I love learning new things... maybe in the process I will learn a thing or two about welding... hehehe.

May be out of commision for the May run (that sounds funny... scratch )... have to assess how bad the front axle is.

Til the next post.

See ya.

This may well have been the most written about event that I have ever seen posted up, and the Big Dogs Icebreaker deserves all the fuss. I believe that it was the most well attended non-club event that I have been to. The Rock Raiders made a strong showing with 11 members present. (19 if you include spouses and guests)

The wheelin' on Saturday ended up being the whole group...picking up Kim & Jay from another line. Funny after all the fuss about who was riding which trails, in the end, we all rode together. Tony and Danny...Glad you could catch up to the group. The ride wouldn't have been the same without you. We rode a lot of definitely intermediate trails with no problems, which brought us to the hill you have all heard so much about.

Tony, dfjsksdkfjsd

The trail ride ended early, so we found some rocks to play on. Fun times.

Nick and Joe...next time I will be on Extreme with you. Sorry I missed out on that. Seems like y'all had a good time on those rocks.

So back to the camp to start the party.... king Once we all had some dinner, it was off to the mud bog. More king king king and a lot of driving2

Greg, you will be thanking my "voice of reason" someday, as waterskiing through the mud attached to a winch cable is, well, not really as fun as it sounded...especially for $2.

If there is one thing I learned at the mud bog it is this...If you are too drunk to drive, you are too drunk to operate a winch. So thanks G-man on both counts, I will forever be in your debt. Max and I made it out of there unscathed.

Watching the recovery of Von's rig was a sight to behold. If there were ever any doubt about how much suction is behind a mud hole, it is gone. It was an amazing recovery. It was good that we had some solid winches in the group, plus an experienced passer-by to orchestrate.

Once the rig was out of the bog, we had to pull it off the trail. Down to one winch and a lot of excited drunks who were tired of waiting for their turn to tear up their chit. jjjjjjjjjjj Under pressure to clear the trail, we worked as fast as we could, or as fast as the winch could, to get Von's jeep in the trees.

Once that was accomplished it was back to the camp... We seemed to be a few short, but, ah well, they would find their way back.

I didn't last long at the fire. I was past my one beer limit and getting tired. I was there long enough to hear the funniest words ever spoken... "Stealing my girl is one thing, but if he took my beer, then I will really be pissed!" lol! lol! lol!

Well I must say I had an awesome time this weekend. Although as of right now I don't have my own jeep, I enjoy being apart of the 4-wheelin adventure. (and it's always an adventure!) It's awesome meeting people and getting to wheel with such a wide range of people. I also enjoy all the craziness in the evening! king One thing I have noticed is no matter where we wheel or with who, everyone rocks! 9 I'm sure this weekend and the stories (haha guess you had to be there) that go with it will be talked about again and again. Glad to be apart of it and can't wait for the next one! mbn Until then everyone take care and dfjsksdkfjsd

Hey Tony you should post the video on U-tube and call it a day after four wheeling comes the clean up. Put some music to it and who knows...
Great picks thanks!

I'm not sure what to add. Most of the trail stories have been told. I was glad to see Andy & Angie (I’m going to call you guys Double A from now on & P.S. thanx again for the chick – I love it!) in line with us. It had been awhile since I’d seen them & their Jeep has grown some since last time. Nothing else eventful to add on my part. I debated taking a crazy try at coming up a section of Hell’s Hole but people with reason talked me out of it. Got to talk to Randy Wood for awhile & got some great ideas for my Jeep.

Saturday night was a blast! I’m getting the blame for Von’s predicament because it was my idea to take his Jeep to the mud bog. 1st trip was fun with Joe L. (Von’s friend) & I yelling & Von hitting the horn. 2nd trip I jumped in the back as Danny took the passenger seat. We hit the first hole & I flew about 2 feet in the air – thought I was going to fly out driving2 ! Around & around we went & then he lined up for Hole 2. I said “don’t do it” – twice because I saw what that stuff was like when we were stuck in it the first time – wet cement. But, he had a plan…put two wheels up on the bank just like he did when we went through the Water Hole at Rausch. Not a bad plan but obviously it didn’t work. What a rush being in it as it fell over! Danny & I were loving it & laughing like a couple of little kids! A couple dhhfsdhfjsddsfs said they would help us out “for $20”. Told them no thanks - we have friends. Some nice guys threw us a couple of beers 7 which we were happy to have after being there for so long. Von was completely covered in mud by the time it was all over. What a fiasco trying to get it out but with the help of Greg, Bobbi, G-man, Joe, Nick & others it eventually got dragged out but we had to leave it there for the night. After all of that we didn’t need much of an excuse to go back, get cleaned up & drink so that’s what we did! king Thanks to Tony for thinking ahead & arranging to take us Mud Raiders back to camp 9 . Had fun comparing with Laurie who got muddier, watching Joe making & burning pizzas, caught some marshmallows on fire, & generally goofed off until people either passed out or went to bed. The rest stays in Gore – you had to be there. Was a gorgeous night but I’m glad I stayed in the truck because it got COLD!

On Sunday, after being instructed in the right & wrong ways to cook sausage (don’t let Joe see you put it on a stick!), Danny, Greg, Joe L. & I went to help get Von's rig onto his trailer while the others went trail riding or cleaned up their rigs. The way I figured it, Danny & I were with him to get it in there so we should be with him to get it out. A little too much excitement, too much alcohol & staying up late took its toll & we weren't really feeling like trail riding anyway. We just wanted to get Von’s Jeep taken care of & relax for the rest of the day. Von tried to get his truck & trailer down there but the trailer got hung up & he had no maneuvering room so we hooked up my Jeep to it to get it in place. He changed out one spare but with 2 blown beads & no one else with 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern - that's all he could do. What a mess! We wiped as much mud as we could off of it to lighten it up. We took pounds off of it! It started (thankfully) & he was able to drive it forward. Danny winched the Jeep to get it turned around a corner & then around another one & up the hill to where the trailer was. Then Von used his winch to pull it onto the trailer. Only slight maneuvering and it actually got on & wasn't hanging off. Quick switch to hook the truck back up again & out we went. Danny & I stopped at the RTI ramp on the way out. We picked up lunch, relaxed for a bit & then packed up. Everyone was tired & didn’t mind getting home a little earlier. I was so wiped out that Joe L. had to drive my truck for awhile on the way home because I was too sleepy. I’m still recovering from the trip but had an outstanding time! Gotta love Big Dogs! lk

PISSED!!!! Beers would have made that recovery much better for me. You suck...I spent 2 hours winching with not a drop to drink!

Von...sorry to see that carnage man. When I saw that picture my jaw dropped to the floor...that's ridiculous! Good time to rebuild though!! How'd your wife like it after you told her "don't worry I'm not gonna do anything extreme and break it" LOL spank

I have to this weekened was one of the best that I have had in a long time. I don't what it is but when we all get together we all have one hell of a time. For the next trip out i'm going to stock the taj a little better so I can wip up some better meals for every one instead of burnt pizzas and molested sauasages. As for the mud pit i'm going to bring my cj down next time and see what shes got. jeep +mud +beer = one hell of a time. Again I just wanted to thank everyone for a great weekend and I can't wait for the next one.

By far this was the MOST FUN Laurie and I have had in awhile. We are both upset with the current mess of Black and Blue (we have affectionately renamed the rig because of the abuse it takes... Bruised and Broken seemed like bad karma)

I can't wait for the next run... and will wrench like crazy to try and get there... but we shall see.

Further investigation underneath shows nothing else major... no leaks from anywhere... no more bent mounts...

Just the Tie Rod (ordering thursday from Rustys when I get paid), axle mount (ordering with tie rod), and oil pan (looking for skid now...).

Thursday will be a massive parts order day for me

Belly Up Skid on the way (no more hi center on the stupid stocker mbn )
Control Arm Brackets
Tie Rod set up
Oil Skid (maybe)
Diff Skid (maybe)

Long overdue, but I learned my lesson... do it right the first time or pay for it down the road.

Course I still have the whole new locker project, but that just got pushed to the back burner for now...

Helpful... yes... necessary... hill climb says no for now... cheers

Speaking of which... hey bobbi... ever get that video up so I can show the guys and gals at work? mbn

I downloaded the video to my computer, but the file extension (I think it is called) is the wrong one to upload to Photobucket.

Anybody know how to convert to a usable type of file?
