shock tuning

Spent about 10 hours Sunday shock tuning with 4 others with Wayne Israelsen. He is tuning about 5 vehicles a day for the next few days. He worked wonders for all 5 vehicles including the Juggy. Found some bad pistons in the resevoirs causing nitrogen to leak into the oil on 3 shocks, 1 was not manufactured properly to accept a wear band and the wear band was absent from the resevoir. Revalved the rears 3 different times, fronts twice. Suspension was way too stiff and not getting quick enough rebound. Dropped the spring pressure in the rear lowers from 250 to 200, kept the 125 uppers and adjustted the preload down another inch. Front springs were dropped from 250 to 150 wtih 150 uppers(yep 150 over 150). Adjusted the preload down 2", wasn't much preload initially at all. Also he increased the Nitrogen pressure from 110 what I normally run to 275. Said the higher Nitrogen pressure helps with the rebound, getting the tire back to the ground quicker. Messed with the preload and Nitro pressure and every small change meant 5 more laps on the test track. Really pleased with the progress, much softer ride. Rear is still a little stiff but we didn't want to do too much since I still needed to add about 250# of fuel to the vehicle.
