For anyone who likes to wheel Crozet, or has thought about it:
Membership at Crozet

Idea:

Create a place for responsible wheelers to wheel and camp at a good price with limited rules.
We will implement this once we reach 50 paid members - if we don't reach this number by Oct 1st 2007, we will either refund the membership fee or supply 4 passes ($100 value). If this does not pass we will revert to the current/old way we have been operating.

Benefits to being a member:

Wheel when you choose any day of the week (still pre-arranged, but only a 2 vehicle minimum to set-up a run)
Self-checkin onsite or via Internet (no waiting in check-in lines)
Each member only signs one liability waiver per year
2 member only events included at no additional cost per year (with raffle etc..)
Member wheeling rates will remain $25/day, $40 for 2-day, and $15 for each succeeding day (non-member rates will be $30/day)
No mandated start times (all vehicles must be off trail by dusk, excepting certain planned events)
Less crowded than existing monthly open runs
More freedom on trail choice and self-guided (with maps)
Ability to bring non-members (must be included in the member's group)
Members' children that hold a valid state driver's license can drive on trails when accompanied by parent(s). Non-members must be 18 years or older to drive on the trails.
    Free camping
Porta-john use (and possible addition of in-season shower)
    Bon-fire pit use

Rules:

Members only (members may sponsor guests and take responsibility for them, non-members can only visit twice before applying for membership).
Dangerous obstacles (high blacks/reds) can only be run with vehicles that have proper safety equipment (full frame tied in cage, harness).
Be courteuos to everyone here (please let's not have to define this).
Schedule a day/time to attend (can be same day - but please call ahead before making plans or heading here).
All vehicles must be off trail by dusk (excepting certain planned events).
Take care of the land: Pick up trash you find, take your trash with you, keep oil and other fluids contained, stay on the trails, don't destroy the driveway/pasture/camping area, respect trees on the trails, and no tree cutting unless expressly permitted.
Group of (2) running rigs at all times.
    No drunk driving.
Members are responsible for their own group's recovery/repairs, as well as their behavior.
All attendees must have seats in a vehicle on the run.
Notarized waiver for all member's minors who will be driving on trail at any point (non-member minors are not permitted to drive on trail).
No refunds of yearly fee (excluding statement above) or daily fees will be provided.

How to become a member:

PRIOR TO OCT 1, 2007:
Must have wheeled here before (in the last 2 years) and join by the October 1st 2007 deadline.
Each yearly membership period will be September 1 - August 31, and membership must be renewed by August 31 each year.
Fee will be $100/person/year (not pro-rated).
Complete, sign, and return liability waiver (or sign and pay on-site/Internet if applicable by deadline). PM jeepnchris for instructions on joining

AFTER OCT 1, 2007 (IN EFFECT FOR FIRST MEMBER YEARLY CYCLE):
Must have wheeled on property after deadline as guest of a member on at least 1 occasion.
Must have 2 or more positive member refferals (negative member refferals will be weighed).
Fee is $100/person/year (not pro-rated).
Complete, sign, and return liability waiver (or sign and pay on-site/Internet if applicable).

I wouldn't do what ? I will go and get the rig dirty. I just have to figure my clearance issues with the 37's once that is fixed I'm going all out. Nick we are going to Crozet and we are ONLY running big boy trails. I would say high blacks and reds but we need cages to do that. You all know I will get the jeep dirty again. Oh but the Chromo Grill will always be shinny cheers

Well after this past weekend, my rig is back in the shop for some up grades and repairs as is my Trailer too. I'll be out of a Jeep until about a week from the next club run.

Crozet is another 2 and half hours from winchester. its not open to the public but I sent chris the guy that owns/runs the place a email and told him that I have a small group of stacked built rigs that would like to check it out. I will see what he says about us claiming 4 or 5 spots for the blacks run next time. Normally he opens the property one or two weekends a month but they are working on the membership thing to allow more use and help the growth of the trails. I know that Randy Woods has wheeled down there before with the serious boys from OCC and enjoyed it but said that its not very big. Its in the works so I will let you know what I find out.

Talking to a buddy out of NC and he said the place is not very big but its like Tellico without all the boring trails in between. Alot of technical trails that result in alot of body damage.
