What size DOM did you use for the cage? I am looking to do the same thing to my YJ. How is the seat height now with the changes to the mounting system? I may copy off you as well for that since my 5 point harness seat puts me way too high and my head sticks above the cage slightly at 6'3". What type of tubing bender did you use for the cage. Sorry about all the questions but I'd like ya to school me on this. I'm always looking to learn something new.

the cage is 2" .120 wall and 1 3/4" .120 wall, appalachian offroad made the cage with all the bends, i got some more 1 3/4 from them and made the dash bar and cross tubes for the seats.


and shane i saw up at aoi the other week, its coming along nicely. definetly be down for some wheelin when its all together.

well ordered parts, changed my original list a little bit,

4.88
detroit/spool
35 slpine shafts f/r
forged yokes
4 speed atlas w/10:1
drive flanges
and some 39" bfg super stickies

ain't it amazing how fast $10,000 can disapear when you start ordering parts. Let me know if you need a hand getting it up to the shop.

i sure hope so.

well i have a little change on my list, the 4 speed atlas has atleast a 2 month waiting list and im not waiting that long for my case, so i got a 5.0 atlas with 5.38's. but the rest of the list is the same.

sounds like a good problem to have. cake or cake with premium icing!

i got some more work done today, i got the fuel system plumbed, battery box mounted and started working on my shifter and it is a big pain in the ass. i had to make a new bracket because the one from art carr didnt work, and im having a hard time getting it adjusted, i will go through all of the gears by the time the shifter is in neutral?? so i have to try and figure it out, any help is appreciated.

got the shifter problem fixed thanks to mike at aoi and i got my tranny in today.

Are you going to do the T-case levers cable drivin as well? I like how the Trans shifter is up in the clear. looking good keep up the good work.

decided to work on the crapper today and i managed to get my steering plumbed, ram mount made, mounted the fuse box to the rad support to keep it up and out of the way, and started on some of the wiring.


NOTE: the steering res, and tie rod are mounted temperarily, untill the hood bars are put in and my real tie rod is made. :lol:

yes, my tcase shifters will be cable

damn, all those parts you had really do make something let me know next time you head up to work on the jeep and i'll swingby and check the jeep out.
