80's chevy s-10 transfercase

Subject: 80's chevy s-10 transfercase Tue Oct 09, 2007 6:41 am

i'm looking for a np231 from a 80's S-10 it should have a 27 spline female input. My friend needs it mostly for parts so any leads on parts of or whole transfercase will help if not its off to do some junk yard hunting.

My father has 1 or 2 layin' around in our shed. I'll ask him if he wants to part with one tomarrow. If not I know a guy who has about 6 s-10 blazers, all in the '80s just up the street from my house. I'll check them out.

The one we have layin' around is a np-207. It is from a '87 s-10 blazer though. The other guy went on a cross country trip, he'll be back in a couple weeks. If the 207 would help, let me know.

We need the NP231 so we can run a NP231/D300 combo in a chevy with chevy or dodge axles. The 231 has the right 27 spline female input.

If you are just using the just low range section of the 231, you might want to check out the info on a 207. It is 27 spline and I think the low range set up is the same. I'm not sure how big ou a hurry you are in, but I'll check with the other guy when he returns.

its just that we have a hook up and the NP231/D300 doubler kit. that will make it cheaper if we can find a 231 for cheap. But I will look in to the 207 and see whats out there.
