Im sure someone has run into this already. I am taking the doors off the xj and after fighting the wires for a couple hours trying not to get mad and cut them I now keep breaking t40 torx bits. Has anyone found a stronger brand? I tried the Lisle brand which Sears stocks and they suck.. I ordered three from Napa which will be here tomorrow.

Try and little heat to warm them up and use a hammer to to make sure the bit is all the way in. Once you get them out swap in a non torx bolt.

Lisles do suck. I have a craftsman set that seem to be still holding up. I did break one of the smaller ones, but haven't stripped out the heads like the lisles. Guys at work swear by Snap On torx but I can't justify the cost.

Best torx bit I ever had is pictured below.
Had to weld a bolt to the top of them to get them out and that worked quite well. I suggest doing the same if possible and replace them with a standard bolt if possible.
