| I need to have the ability to disable my airbags for when I wheel and compete. I am very surprised they have not gone off yet...(with the roll and how hard I've hit plenty of things) Is it as simple as pulling a fuse, or do I need to install a switch? Has anyone had any experience with this? | |

| They wont go off unless you are over 15 mph and hit something. You can just pull the fuse...

| just disconect the wires going two the two sensors up front. If the fuse thing don't work. On the grands we have two sets of fuses that you have to pull a small one in the fuse panel and one in the engine compartment. | |

| I pull those fuses all of the time - have to disable the air bag any time I am taking Patrick (baby) in the front when I don't have the rear seat in.
I no longer remove them during comps because I figured if the air bag did decide to go off in that setting I would actually want it to have gone off. Decided to leave those in at the same time as I decided to start competing with the doors on - again if I whipe out a door I will most likely be glad it was the door instead of my hip/legs.
In my TJ the fuses are behind the glove box and are very clearly labeled on the side of the box.
Not sure if it is the right way to go, and I know that it is actually illegal to run on the street with the drivers side airbag disabled. There is an idiot light on the dash that tells you when they are disabled. | |
