| Thank you I enjoyed the Turtle poping up now and then, That was a humerous moment that kept me laughing for a spell. I had a great time Saturday and look forward to the Sunday run because this time I get to hit the trails along with everyone. But for those present on Saturday, Thank you for showing and supporting the fundraiser; Here are a few pictures I took when I had the chance and the camera was working, enjoy( Click on the picture); | |

| Saturday was a great day on the trails... plenty of muck out there. Thanks to Tico and Nester and Paul for all your hard work.
In our group we had Jack and Steve in the stock green YJ, Sean in his red TJ, Dave in the Toyota, Nate in his JK and Sean and Amanda in the Tan YJ. In the morning we headed out F to the pole line, past the mud pit and over to the west property. We started down the J-1 trail down to 11 to the 11 shortcut then hung a left at 11B. 11B seems to be a newer trail and about 200 yards before it meets up with H all the deep ruts just disappeared. We followed the tracks to the hard right over some slick wet logs and made it back up to H. Along the way Sean's vacuum went up on his front axle and he lost 4wd. Dave had a huge stick wedge its way in between his tire and his rim. We pulled Jack to the top, came back and pulled Sean to the top and then surveyed the damage. We decided to head back to the tent to drop off Sean's YJ and to try to fix Dave's tire. Nester and Matt E were able to break the bead and set it again. We had a quick lunch and then headed back out. Jack and Steve had their fill of wheeling and went to clean up. In the afternoon we went down by the old office, found trail 2 to go look at the Frog hole. We stuck a stick in it and it is still deep! We finished two, found Winch Hill and a few of us went down the steep side and came up the other end. By that time it was after 4 so we headed back to the festivities at the tent. I couldn't convince Karen to camp out in the rain and the mist so we had to head back after the dinner and raffle.
Tony - Glad to hear that you and your rig made it back home!

| And, here we have some pics of the imfamous stick: Danny - thanks for leading us around, that was great. And you wouldn't believe it but THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN SUNDAY! Same tire! That wheel must be a stick magnet! I have some crappy cell phone pics of that one somewhere. This time, we decided to just leave it there! I drove it the 112 miles home with that thing in there, no problems... still sitting in there in the garage, hahaha. Tell you what, I have some new found respect for BFG ATs. Incredible. (I guess beadlocked 32" ATs would look pretty goofy, eh?) | |

| Had a great time, ran the new "fire pit". Had good people on the trip and jeep did well without the rear locker. No problems except when something like this crawed up my cage near my steering wheel and I had to bail. | |

http://home.comcast.net/~p.trautner/ADA%2008-4.avi Paul - I think you did a great job leading Saturday... even getting towed out I had a great time... though I still think we shoulda hit that mud hole on pole line tandom... Besides... now I can tell everyone at work I drive so good I don't even need the engine I had a great time, and a huge thanks to those who lent a second (third, fourth, etc) set of eyes at the project ahead of me. TREMENDOUS props and respect to Tico for loaning his Grand to drive back while Blue got the trailer... I will keep a side post on the repair progress... and try to document step by step how to do it in case any one else falls into my demise... Great cause, great time, and I will be there again... bigger, stronger, and (maybe) a little wiser...

| Thanks to everyone. I had a great time and I did get to do some wheeling on sunday. Tico thanks for all the hard work. Paul the food was great. Sunday I took out all the VA rigs. We did good until we came off trail 13 and found out the frame on the toy was cracked on both sides behind the cab. We did some quick welds and packed up and when home. I will post pics and the work that Ryan, my brother and myself did today since Ryan was off work and we had a slow day at work today. | |

| Well here is my write up, fell free to add to it.
Well, success once again. Thanks to the off-road enthusiast that responded to the call. What a time we all had, the rain, neither the fog nor the wind could stop us from achieving success. We had participants from New York, Delaware, Virginia, and Pennsylvania and throughout Maryland. From an expected showing of 50 plus drivers, we ended up with 37 and some 20 or so passengers, as well as additional raffle participants that were already at the park. We wheeled throughout the day on Saturday with some carnage; pieces of wood embedded into the wheels, oil pan damage and as I recall broken axle.
But hey, no problem, we had a grand time. On our return from the trails Paul Sobwick who had been preparing the food since Friday afternoon, cooked up one hell of a meal. He served up some 40 lbs of pork barbeque, Louisiana baked beans (they were out of this world), coleslaw, homemade potato salad, roasted chicken, Mmmm…. it was delicious. The spices enhanced the flavors and certainly left you liking your fingers for more.
The raffle and the 50/50 drew many spectators and participants alike, who bought tons of tickets, one such person sticks out the most, Greg Knoll who bought 300 dollars worth. There were about $5045 worth of gift certificates, discount coupons, Adams Jeep donated 5 Steel wheels, NAPA donated 2 batteries, Airgas donated an entire welding suit with head gear, Bushwacker donated a complete set of flairs, BDS a set of 4 top of the line shocks, Adams Suzuki gave up a road emergency kit with cleaning and maintenance stuff, 4 Wheeldrive hardware gave some $400 dollars worth of certificates just to name a few, the list goes on.
Music was substituted with an I-pod and we jammed all day. Good thing we had a tent put up for the food and raffle, it really save the day keeping things semi-dry. Altogether we drew $ 2,000 dollars towards the donation after expenses. There are plenty of event t-shirts left and to help move them we will sell them at $20 buck each. Remaining size are XXlg, XXXlg and XL. If you want to also support this cause, please send us and E-mail for the details.
On behalf of the Maryland Rock Raiders and the American Diabetes Association, thanks to all who participated and made this a truly successful endeavourer. May you and your families be blessed for your continuous support. Be looking for us next year for even a better turn out, food, music and games.
