| I'm looking to buy a self propelled mower rather quickly. Any advice on brand, torque etc? Honda, cub cadet, john deer or a home cheapo model? the kind with the caster wheels looks easy to maneuver around. | |

| Honda is the best but the most expensive. Briggs makes the engines for almost everything else, and do suck. I disagree about Kawasaki, but it’s hard to find them on a push mower. John Deere’s self propel sucks. You should need anything with big HP/tq with the way your lawn is, unless you like to wait a couple of weeks between grass cuttings. | |

| I've always liked the lawnboys. I got the commercial series self propelled and it's nice since it has a bit of a bigger tank. The other lawnboys have been 2 stroke, this is a 4 stroke and is much harder to bog down when you get in the thick stuff. It also starts much easier and more consistent than the 2 strokes. | |

doesn't matter cause if they don't get the chores done then guess who has to use it...Elva. So it has to be as easy to use as possible.

| OK I bought a Honda today. I got the fancy dancy Nexite deck and got the bigger 190cc motor. Works great, can mow at full speed 3.6 mph without bogging down much. cut from 6" down to 3" and did the whole place in 40 minutes. | |

| Don't forget the long lost "Snapper"
Every time I see a old guy riding one of those Forest Gump Snappers I think of the old George Carlin bit about why is was so wrong to name a lawn mower a Snapper.
