So during the Big Dogs run I discovered a few issues with the jeep.
1. The steering had some play in it. Discovered the kingpins had some play on both sides of about 1/4" tire movement. I removed the steering arm and put an extra large washer in there and it cured the steering problem. Put some new grease fittings on teh steering arms and gave it a good lubing.
2. Rear 3rd member was leaking. Removed the 3rd member and put a new seal on. Also replaced the lower 2 studs that were bent with the 2 spares that I had in the tool box. Best guess as to why it started leaking was that i replaced those studs before and they must not have been seated all the way and when bumped on the rocks it caused them to leak.
3. Thump in the drivetrain with accelerating and decelerating. Dropped the oil pan skid and transfer case skid and found the driveshaft joints were fine. Yokes are secure, tcase and tranny bolts are tight. Discovered that the rear driveshaft was seized up. Broke it loose with liquid wrench, a BF Hammer and then cleaned it up, put grease on it and reassembled. Works fine now and hopefully cured the thump.

4. Removed the second battery to use in the CJ. Hooked the winch cables up to the side posts of the battery.
5. ARB was not engaging. Found gear oil in the line so new seals will be needed. I'll have to order them and take it apart another day.
6. Also took time to clean up what was left of the tire carrier pin so it wouldn't cause injury. Also discovered the axle winch was jammed into the side of the roller of the hause. I got it unjamed but will have to wait for a second person to help wind the cable out and back in to take out the kinks. gear oil in the rear differential was kindal black so I'll need to replace it.
