| I was in Home Depot today and saw a Lincoln 100hd on sale for $175. It was originally $390. Is this too small for welding on Jeep stuff? It says up to 1/4" steel and runs on 115v power.

I wasnt really in the market for one, but if its worth it I would go for it. Only had 1 left in Columbia. The guy said they are discontinued so thats why they are getting rid of them so cheap.
Thanks... | |

| Really depends on what you are using it for. If to fix a busted shock mount or weld together small areas like a tie rod link end then it will work fine. if you are trying to weld a cage together then it will fail. The duration is the key. if it only is used a few minutes at a time then go for it. if you plan to fabricate your own suspension and weld it to the frame etc then nope. gut instinct is go for it. | |

| x2. Might not be a bad cheap first welder then when you get to upgrade jump right to a 220 welder when the time is right or you have the need. | |

| If it has a built in fan it will be fine that is a big deal if no fan then it will overheat .. | |

gotta agree a welder is better than no welder, lots can be done with a small welder, even horse trade for a bigger one some day. | |

| I went back to look at it and it looked used (really dusty inside) and seemed to be missing parts on the tip. I may check the HD near my house though.. | |
