I was in Home Depot today and saw a Lincoln 100hd on sale for $175. It was originally $390. Is this too small for welding on Jeep stuff? It says up to 1/4" steel and runs on 115v power.

I wasnt really in the market for one, but if its worth it I would go for it. Only had 1 left in Columbia. The guy said they are discontinued so thats why they are getting rid of them so cheap.

Thanks...

Really depends on what you are using it for. If to fix a busted shock mount or weld together small areas like a tie rod link end then it will work fine. if you are trying to weld a cage together then it will fail. The duration is the key. if it only is used a few minutes at a time then go for it. if you plan to fabricate your own suspension and weld it to the frame etc then nope. gut instinct is go for it.

x2. Might not be a bad cheap first welder then when you get to upgrade jump right to a 220 welder when the time is right or you have the need.

If it has a built in fan it will be fine that is a big deal if no fan then it will overheat ..

gotta agree a welder is better than no welder, lots can be done with a small welder, even horse trade for a bigger one some day.

I went back to look at it and it looked used (really dusty inside) and seemed to be missing parts on the tip. I may check the HD near my house though..
