| i'd get a second opinion and have that sucker removed. it will likely get infected and that will set you back even more time. | |

x2 it will become infected because it was not clean when it went in unless you really put time in on it everyday cleaning it ect. Better off being out of work for a few weeks letting it go working at half speed do to the pain then having to corret a bigger prob which takes longer to heal. | |

| Damn that sucks! Any idea where the metal came from? Was it just in the grass somewhere? I agree with everybody else, get it out. Hope you feel better soon and it doesn't take too long to heal. | |

| WOW, i have never heard of such a thing...thats crazy. I hope that everything works out for you.I still don't understand what the reason is why they wont pull it out. if you will heal from the surgery ok or not? that is a sucky situation | |

| rationale is that they could do more damage trying to take it out then it is to just leave it in there. always a chance of cutting a nerve and causing permanent damage. | |

| glad to hear that. it will be well worth it to get the metal removed. It's rare that people have problems from the surgical removal of foreign objects unless it is near vital organs or nerves. there is a lot of muscle in the calf and not a complicated surgery to remove the metal. glad to hear you found a competent specialist. | |
