Good times! Motor is about done, went through 2 quarts of oil just on Saturday and is running like crap again. Starting to look for a replacement. Bent drag link needs replaced but an easy fix. Got to run some awesome trails again. Amazing how the rain and constantly changing terrain makes the challenge that much greater.

I started working out the plans in my head and figured an LS motor would be a good swap. Figured I'd have to go with an auto transmission and swap the input shaft in the atlas. Figured I'd have to upgrade the 1310 driveshafts so I don't bust them all the time, have to get coilovers wtih better range so I'm not running with just 3" of up travel, run new exhaust, new computer, new power steering system through PSC, new fuel pump and filter and while I was at it fix the problem with the short links and while I was at it get rid of that heavy ass frame. then started thinking about just putting together a small framed buggy to keep it light and solve a lot of problems along the way and then thought well shit, I'm just building Chris's willys in my head. I knew there was no way I could do an upgrade to a v8 without fuckin with the rest of the vehicle so I called around and got some advice. Got my head back on straight and decided to buy a used 4.0 so I could swap it in and keep the YJ the same ole reliable vehicle it is now. Building the CJ and working out all the bugs and remembering all the trouble I went through to get the YJ reliable kinda made the decision easy. I'll test a few things in the 4.7 stroker first to see if it is just an issue with the valvetrain causing the oil consumption and the crank bearings causing the low oil pressure. Hopefully it will be an easy fix but the plan is to stick with the 4.0 and keep the YJ the same ole reliable girl she's always been.......I think....
