| Well after 12 or so years Hillbilly Red finally gradgeeated Jr High. He now has 4.56 gears so as a graduation present he got a set of 35" Pro Comp MTs. (hand me downs of course) what else would you buy a Hillbilly. I'm taking it out next weekend to get used to it. And I already have reservations @ the Comfort Inn for Rausch Creek on the 14th. | |

| That's pretty much it, I've been abusing the clutch in it for too long so I'm gonna have to replace it soon, I'll probably upgrade it then, I used to have a really good local shop that rebuilt my pressure plates, but the owner has passed on, so I'll be going w/ a Centerforce, but I don't think a CF II.
I have an issue with my steering, the length of my pitman arm is too short and that is not letting me have full left to right steering. My plan is too get a Waggy pitman arm make a BEEFY drag link that will accept those big rod ends and on the other end use a hiem joint, drilling my steering knuckle out to use a bolt for the hiem, flipping it on top.
I'm saving pennies for a winch, other than those few things I'm going to just do minor upgrades if needed.
I've got to get my shed cleared out, to get the new project in it too keep it from rusting. And my efforts are going into it because it is a better base to build on. The frame is in better condition, the tub is solid and the cage is way safer, oh that reminds me, I'll most likely be adding to Red's roll-bar.
I met a clerk at one of the local C stores that has a YJ with a custom cage and he said he has the original roll-bar w/ the family bars and the bars that bolt to the windshield frame and he'd sell them to me for $25.00.
I figure with having time to work on it and getting all the $$ together it'll be 2 years before the new CJ gets on a trail.
Besides I got a lil' bit of work for my white one too, the frame needs patched it has an oil leak I can't seem to locate and I have a full floater kit for the rear axle I've never got installed and it needs a radio. the kids are complaining on the ice cream runs that there is no music ! lol | |
