| Planning some winter projects.
What does it take to put a dana 300 flipped with twin sticks into my 99 cherokee. The cherokee has a stock aw4 and 231j currently. Besides having to get the driveshafts the right length what else is going to have to be modified? I have been on pirate and its getting pretty confusing. The 300 already has the 4 to 1 kit installed.

| egg out some holes in the trans and some dana 300 cable shifters. might want to double up the oil seals on the shifter rods(forget what they are called). I think thats all you need to do but let me look. I plan on flipping my 231 and egg out the holes is all i need to do. | |

| If you find some real detail send me a link.. This is getting really confusing when they start talking about doubling the 231 and all that crap.. i want the basic 300 setup with twin sticks.
the unit i am looking at is a 300 already flipped with twin sticks and the 4 to 1 already done.
next question is will the twin sticks be in the same location as my current shifter?

| I need to find a thread where someone already did a xj so i can see how the console has to be setup.. i dont want to be changing everything out on the console. all my switches for the compressor, front locker, twin battery control are mounted on the console and then my regulator setup is in the console also..
I checked naxja and pirate and havent found any good threads yet..

| I haven't found an article about flipping it without a adapter but I have seen a lot of people mention it, like here
http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=625956&highlight=flipped+300
Like it says there if you want to clock it flat you will need a clocking ring though.
nester is right, the sticks will be in a different spot but it will be close.

| try to pm hdcherokee for pics. He had to cut the floor but because he has it clocked all the way flat http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=625751&highlight=flipped+300
I will also depend on how the sticks are on that flip kit. I just ordered a set that are said to have a long throw so I will have to cut a lot of the floor, wish I would of got the cables

| Its a deal either way buy it and if you dont use it in the XJ use it in the buggy. Or we might be able to make a trade if you do want it later. I have a 4 to 1 in my Tcase with a AA HD kit. | |

| do you know what kit is on it. A Down East offroad kit is designed to fit in the stock location and it seems that the higher end kits are as well. | |
