Plan on giving Chris a hand on sunday changing out his new shafts.. After replacing the seals on my front 44 its a pain if the seal gets moved during axle setup.. I noticed on the rubi forum that the new seal kit comes with white plastic spacers that keep the axle center in the housing when installing. Can these be bought anywhere?????

I guess the best plan would be to open the diff and try to get your hand in there and help center the axle when it comes through the seal.

Nester, you got plans for Sunday?? You being the axle specialist and all... lol!

Nothing special needed for the rubi is there.. 36mm socket..

You will need to socket for the hub but other than that its not hard. The Rear should be simple. If you nice to the seals the seals will be nice to you. I will try to head up and help out if I can.

Kyle got the plastic spacers from the dealer when he got new seals for his rubicon.

I've been lucky with the inner seals on the few times I've had the axle shafts out and they seem to be holding up fine. I just put the axle back in slow and steady. 9

I use a 12pt 13mm socket for the bolts on the back of the hub. I can't remember if those bolts were bigger on the rubicon's D44 than they are on the D30.

Since the one cap already came out it should be easier to remove the joint itself.

I have never seen the spacer before, that is pretty cool.

The axles already have the joints in and even the unit bearings are there.. Should be pretty straight forward. I asked him to soak the bolts down a day before just to help out alittle.. I just thought the plastic clips were a good idea..Now if we get weather like today it will be a good jeep day..

Jack from Creepers is selling me front and rear us alloys with bearings and u-joints, already assembled. He also has usa alloy axle seals for sale at a reasonable price. Should I invest in these also?
