Jeeps on the Beach 2010

Hey guys,
I started thinking about JOTB, and wanted to see what dates would work for everyone. I was looking at Aug 12 - 15th. That is the Thurs - Sunday dates.
Was the Cape Pines OK with everyone? If so I'll call them and set up the group rate.
I am thinking about staying until Monday just to avoid that traffic home on Sunday.

We will try to go when everyone figures they want to go but I wanted to see if we could move it forward in the month. Emily already has the first week in august off. We also have a family beach trip at the end of the month. Aug 5-8 would work best of us but we are willing to work with the crowd. I just hope to do this, last year was crazy and I hated missing this.

It looks like the weekend of Aug 5-8th works for everyone. I may stretch it out a day and come home on the 9th just to avoid that Sunday traffic coming out of there.

When you call tell them you are with the Jeep club to get the group rate which is $15 per night cheaper than normal for whichever type of room you want. Also it is a little extra for pets. Here is their website:

what kinda rooms is everyone getting? I dont want to be the odd man out.

Hotel is not on the beach. Small motel in an affordable location. Everyone got differnet type rooms. hotel is small so doesn't matter much. we will get the suite most likely.

Hey Kim,
Its not directly on the beach, but it is really close to about 3 locations that you can take the Jeep out onto the beach. We pack all the beach stuff in the Jeep and drive around on the sand for a while until we see a spot that we feel like stopping at.... Here is where it is o the map. Its almost to the ferry to Oracoke.



Nester - we are staying in a delux room in the courtyard. It is the horseshoe shaped building that goes around the pool. There is a side street next to the hotel that can fit the trailers/tow rigs etc.

Cool. Well Emily and I talked about it last night. Emily already took the days off and I have to. I can wait to get in some beach time.

I'm bringing the cornhole boards for the evenings after the beach. If you don't know what that means just bring your beer - it won't hurt that bad...
