PostSubject: Rollcage Removal   Rollcage Removal Icon_minitimeThu Aug 30, 2007 10:34 pm

Well I got the cage out to paint it today. Of course most of the torx bolts stripped so 4 or 5 of them needed nuts welded onto them. After that we used a come-along and connected it to an ibeam to ease the extraction. It was a procedure but a good time. Jeep looks funny without the cage! I should have it all painted and possibly back in the Jeep tomorrow. I went to a paint shop and had the OEM sand beige color put into spray cans for $34. I didn't know how I felt about painting it the gold color but it looks pretty nice now.

I also decided to replace the 4x6 dash speakers while the cage was out too since it's my last chance. The passenger speaker is out but the driver side I decided to save for when I had more patience. Anyway...here's a couple of pics if anybody is interested.

I thought A to Z from that round hoop in the middle. Did you have it done in Zach's shop in Cressona? I've stopped by there a couple of times for bumpers and rocker guards.

Can't wait to see the finished pics!
