Okay so I have been keeping a eye out for a good old pickup. Something that can pull a trailer and I can use as a good shop truck for over sized items. The other day while Emily and I had the jeep out on a cruise I came apon a old ford pickup. Its a 1990 F350 4x4 76,000 mile in good shape and clean. Its a regular cab with a 8 ft bed. My only question is has anyone ever dealt with a 460 and how do they run. I'm still trying to figure what its worth but I thought I would ask you guys to see what you think. In my opinion so far it looks like a good truck to drive till it blows up then I figure I can do something with the axles (Dana 60 kingpin and Dana 70 I think Very Happy )

I'm keeping the van its just we need work pick-up at the shop.

Nester, you know I have the F250 the series below yours F350, I have done well with it and it has about 162K miles. If it's in good condition and like Bill said if you don't mind the gas mileage situation it's a good truck. It's is a single cab or XL, XLT type? I am sure that with your knowledge with engines and mechanical tinkerning you would find a way to improve the gas mileage.

Well it has double tanks and I was thinking that its going to get around the same as my van does with just the jeep on the dolly. Right now the van gets 9-10 towing the jeep and 11-12 when I pulled the toyota home. I thought I read on the pirate about a couple of guys that the 460 has enough power to pull two rigs and gear. The mileage around town doesn't bother me much cause I need a large truck and work pays for the gas. I do need to figure how many gallons is the tanks in the pickup. Tico this one is the body style before yours. So far just looking at the truck it seems the only down fall is that its a regular cab. But the idea of a old school 1 ton pickup on 33's stays in the back of my mind.

Yeah 30 gallons at the gas station these days is not fun. The van takes 33 gallons and its in the 100-120 dollar range. Even with the company paying for it hurts. All I can think is there goes the profit.
