| I think most people already know but for those that don't, I work at Holy Spirit Church and half of the building I work in burned down on Wednesday around 11 AM. No one was hurt and thankfully my office only sustained smoke damage. I had just left the building so I wasn't there at the time. There were about 40 older women (ages 55 to 93) in the building at the time having a catered Christmas party. They called 911, didn't panic, and were even smart enough to close all the doors and partitions before they left. Cause was accidental - electrical. The Archdiocese of Baltimore is handling everything and is doing an excellent job. As soon as they heard about it, they were out on site and making plans. They had Servicemaster there within a few hours and they started cleaning the remaining building packing everything up. They had an electronics company come out and get all the equipment to be taken and cleaned and Harford Cleaners out to take anything that could be dry cleaned. They had everything I wanted from my office moved to the garage at my house by about 6:30. It smells awful but at least I have it. They lined up a temporary tralier that should be here next week and will be my office for the next year or more. The priest basically put me in charge and I have been spinning in circles the past few days on information overload. I stopped even trying to remember people's names. Everybody and their brother has my cell phone number now...and you all know how much I love my phone. I am sick of it ringing already. It could have been alot worse and I am thankful it wasn't. Everyone has been wonderful. I am mentally exhaused. With Christmas and the end of the year being around the corner, I have alot of work to do both at home and at work and obviously this just added alot more to it. I picked up my Jeep from my dad's yesterday and I plan on taking it out to play in the snow and clear my head. Lord knows I need it. | |

| I put in 26 hours of overtime since last Wednesday because of this. The worst part about it all - I'm too tired to wheel. We were going to go to Rausch on Sunday but I just want to rest this weekend for the most part. I drove the Jeep around in the snow and it reeks of gasoline. I can't find anything leaking. We are going to try to figure out what is going on with it on Sunday. I saw a leak on the gas tank about a year ago and pulled the whole thing but couldn't make it leak again and could never tell exactly where it was coming from in the first place. Very odd. Any ideas anyone? | |
