| Did I hear somewhere that one of the tire manufacturers are building a radial mud terrain in the 37" size? My "street" tires are just about due for replacement and I'm starting the shopping process now. | |

| I just saw that and I really like them. Here are my findings so far.
$330 Mickey Thompson Baja Radial Claw 37x13.5x15 (83#) $268 Goodyear MT/R 37x12.5x15 $255 Interco Super Swamper SSR Radial 37x12.5x15 (78#) $243 Mickey Thompson TrXus MT 37x12.5x15 (72#) $277 Super Swamper IROK radial 37x12.5x15 (77#)
I really like the looks of the Trxus MT and it's the lightest tire I found so far. Now with the prices in it looks even better. These prices are from a quick scan and do not include any special deals.

| the new mud terrain looks like the krawler right? They are advertising a krawler tire but they are very expensive and I hear that the krawler doesn't do that well in mud. as for the mud terrain KM I've heard the following "My only complaint about the current BFG MT design is the so-called "rim protector". While it may protect the rim in some situations, it tends to behave like a "probe" which, when it makes contact with a rock or the side of a rut pushes the sidewall in away from the rim, thereby inviting the entry of foreign material into the bead, which results in a slow leak. | thats is true. The rim still gets scratched up but it keeps stuff out of the bead. | |

| Is there a reason you did not consider the Maxxis Creepy Krawler?
I currently have them on my new rig in a 35 and so far I like them. We ran mostly easy stuff on Saturday but they seem to stick pretty well.
I cant cut and paste at work but a friend of mine did a review on pirate about the creepy in a 37. If you do a search for RWRANGER88 there is a thread compiled by him. He was running 37's on a TJ.
I thought after having bfg Krawlers/red I wouldnt like anything else but so far I do like the Maxxis. The side wall holds its posture even at very low pressures.

| I did look at the creepy tires and really liked them, saw them at big dogs as well. The tires I'm looking for are for mostly street, snow/ice, and trail use. The Creepy crawlers look awesome and are a fantastic off road tire but I need something that will last on the road as well. Cost is a big factor as well with the Creepy Crawlers 37x12.50-15LT 8PR costing $390.18. The Trxus is $232 and much more road friendly. These tires will go on my alloy wheels for a nice light weight combination that will balance well compared to my off road tires (bias ply 36x12.5x17 IROCs on Steel beadlocks). Thanks for all the input and with revisiting this I ordered a set of Trxus 37x12.5x15 that should be here in a week. | |
