| I'll send you some pics tomorrow nester...remind me if you're on aim at all.
Joe is wondering about using the factory 4.0L a/c compressor and what would need to be done as far as oiling it etc. I know I saw a tech article on it or something very similar to it so I'll start hunting and see what I can turn up for you Joe.
I think my setup is finally right. It took a few failures but I think the 2.5 gallon tank sealed the deal, pun intended. The biggest issue I had was with the line blowing off at the compressor. Some steel line extending farther from the compressor or more air storage will solve it. The line would get squishy and blow which always seemed to happen right after the rig before mine got aired up or 3 tires were done saving the 4th for the damn quarter eater.
Also Netser, while you're in the spirit of setting it up, look into creating the air up 4 at once octopus.

Joe, I think you might be better off just going to the junkyard and getting a York. Jason got his there for next to nothing and I found mine for $50 rebuilt of BMJA forum. We made the bracket that mounts where the factory unit goes and the worst part of the whole deal was finding the right belt to fit which was just trial and error after a rough estimate with a piece of rope.

| I almost forgot about that Danny...your reaction was classic and I don't blame you since it blew off right above your head near the wheel well. I got a good laugh out of it, thanks! | |

| Good tech - perfect for this rainy saturday at work nursing a hangover. It reminded me of some things I'd like to do with my setup. First off, upgrading the hose. I used the copper tubing on mine as well and was going to extend that, but hi temp hose should do the trick like suggested on the pirate post. I haven't had a problem blowing the line off since the tank but it was leaking a bit at big dogs and looked like it didn't have long till it blew off again. I'd also like to do a manifold to keep the arbs regulated at 85 with the arb reg and then 125ish for tire inflation. I only have like $75 tops in this system not including the $50 for the rebuilt york I bought a long time ago. | |

| that was wierd My computer never told me any one reponded to this post till today. But any way I found this article on using the ac and I think i'm going to do the same set up.
http://members.cox.net/rough-riders2/tech_page/sanden_OBA/sanden.html
The only difference would be that i'm going to run daul 2.5 gallon air tanks and my ac switch will be the toggel switch. With the daul 2.5 gallon tanks it will alow the air tools to work alot longer, stronger and better. Also I can run two air hoses if need be and the system will be able to handel it, plus it is easier to blow up tires, set beads ect with the extra air storage.

| 5 gallons of air storage will be sweet. I kind of wish i did a bigger tank since i decided to put it in the back and give up on the back seat. My original plan was to put the 2.5 gallon tank tucked against the gas tank, however, my nth degree stinger was giving clearance issues. With my 2.5 gallon tank i could get between 3-4 of your lugs w/o a cylce. | |

| I have an air compressor off of an 18wheeler that is vbelt drive. You (or anyone) can have it if they want it. I was going to use it until a friend showed me his comp.(12v) he bought from Harbor frieght. I bought one. It was 59.99 and is a knock off of the Viair comp. that costs about $400.00. I have used mine many times since I got it and it works great. I did have a valve on top of the piston go bad. I ordered 2 of everything to rebuild the entire comp. for $13.00. I try not to use accesories like comp.s,welders,etc.. that use engine power because a shut down eng. might be why I want to use air tools, or have to weld, or something like that. Just something to think about. | |

| Yeh, Harbor Freight has some junk sometimes. I've had some of their other comp.s that didn't even last for a tire on my lawnmower. Thats pretty bad. This model seems ok though. If you would be interested in the belt drive comp. I have let me know and I'll try to get a model# or some spec.s off of it or send some pic.s to ya or something. Like I said you can have it. If your a/c dont work or you just dont use it, but your comp. is good thats probably the best way to go. That will be a nice clean job. | |

| My new transmisson is being built right now. It should be done this week. I'll install it right away, then tackle exhaust mod.s and shields underneith. Next up a test run at some local trails, then off to R/C. Realistic time should be no more than 30days. My goal for the test run,2 weeks. Just hope I have $ left to make the trip up to R/C. After 6 weeks off for surgery, Dr. bills, School clothes and supplies for the daughter, 2 transfer cases & 2 transmissons all in one summer, I'm tapped. So far my free day at Carlisle has cost me about $2000. If I blow another trans. or transfer right away I'm just gonna sell it for the first reasonable offer and get into weavin' baskets or knitting! Offroadin' is great! | |

na I canget that stuff local, I just order the hard to find items. They said it should be in at the end of the week or so. As for the willys just try to have it ready for the halloween run because I think last years run was the virgin runs for both of our rigs up at paragon.

| HOLY CRAP! Thats true. I hadn't realised its been a freakin' year since I've been to a park with the club! Well, thats the exact goal then. I cant beleive it's been that long. With all the upgrades and repairs I,ve made it's gonna seem like it.s first time out all over again. I was just on the phone with the trans. guy and he says tomarrow or Wed. I should get it back. I trust his work, so as long as I installed the SYE kit properly (I think I did, pretty simple) all should be good. | |
