I have a danna 44 out of a scout that i found.i was looking at putting in a 8.8 which one is less work and easy to put in.I was thinking of running 4.88 gears. Any thoughts

go with the 8.8 its easy to install and has the same lug pattern and you can find them with 4:10's that will buy you time till your ready to swap in the 4:88 gears. The Dana 44 out of the scouts had the old 6 lug or 5 lug pattern that was used on the old CJ's and Grand Wagoneers. The only down fall to the 8.8 is that it is a little more narrow but wheel spacers or the Super 8.8 kit will fix that problem.
