| I have a 8.8 that i am putting in and i was planning on upgradeing myd30.I have a 4 cyl stick running on 36's.I am not planning on making it a hard core rocker because i drive it to work 2 to 3 times a week.I just want more power on the road to make it up hills in 4th gear.I have 411's in now. What would be a good set up me for road and trail | |

| Using this calculator and the recommended rpm's @ 60mph, it looks like you could run 5.13's. http://www.ringpinion.com/Calc_RPM.aspx Mark | |

| would not suggest 5.13's on a d30 the pinion gear will be tiny and weak but then again if you dont wheel it, dont worry bout it. | |

I didn't think you could get 5:13's in a dana 30. I thought that 4:88's was the limit. I would do that and live with it. 36's is a push for a 4 cylinder but with the 4:88's you should be good. then down the road if you want you can get a 4 to 1 for the t-case for crawling | |

| I agree about the small pinion gear with the 5.13's. I would stick with the 4.88's. When you decide, price check these guys. I have bought alot from them. They are very knowlegable and prices have been great. No troubles at all.
