Anybody know where there is a chart stating which winch's hold what amount of winch line? I have a 8274 that i was going to run 125 foot of 3/8. I found this deal on 100 foot of 7/16. I remember seeing one online when i bought it for my last rig but cant find it.

Is 100 foot enough? For the price is worth having the heavier line, I guess??

I wouldnt' do it. If anything go shorter line so the pulling power is greater. When you go longer cable the additional layers on the winch drum severly reduce the pulling power and the added thickness of the line makes it worse. ALso remember if you fill the drum to the top with layers and start winching off center it will all stack on one side and you will have to stop in the middle of the pull to unwind and rewind the cable back in its layers. Next investment for me is synthetic and not as long.

I have 100 feet of 3/8 synthetic and it hardly fits. I thought 5/16 was the norm and 3/8 was the upgrade, I didn't even know they had 7/16.

I was thinking of going the same way with shorter synthetic rope after finding out that the winch has the most pulling power/less stress with most the line out. I like hooking up long towstraps to trees to make large tree savers do to the fact thats its less line you have to wind up after your done pulling.
