| Well when i was at rock run i noticed that my diff breather hose pushed fluid out. This typically happens when an o-ring is bad in the diff. I haven't had the rear diff apart for a long time so i wanted to inspect everything anyway. Wear pattern on the gears was perfect, gear oil was the cleanest it's been (it pays to stay out of the mud and water!!), and the splines on the axles appeared to be perfect. I even got the diff cover off without much trouble. That amazed me considering the 3 bottom bolts were ground in half. I replaced all of them with new bolts from Lowe's, but I'm worried with how exposed they are now.
It sat apat for about 2-3 weeks now waiting for parts, getting the wrong parts, etc etc. I replaced the seal housing assembly, got a new bearing, and 2 new o-rings. My original orings looked fine however i suspected a possible leak on the copper tubing so i decided to replace it all.
I got everything put back together and noticed the rotor spinning and it looked bent to hell. After putting the rotor on the brake lathe it turned close enough to true so it turns out I bent the passenger side axle. I have spares on my trailer so everything was buttoned up and IT'S ALIVE! Can't wait to go beat on her! I'm pretty sure I decied on Moser's for $315 after christmas. | |
