| The stock fuel tank has been removed, new steel tank if anyone is interested. I will be using a fuel cell in the bed of the CJ. With the 454 I'm thinking I'd better go with about 12-15 gallons. I also need fuel lines to match. Any recommendations? | |

| I would do 15 gallons at least if you plan on doing any type of riding with it. Also keep in mind the last couple of gallons are useless when you get off camber. i.e. a 15 gallon tank is only 10 to 12 gallons on a small hill. | |

| It will have a top. Only plan on having it closed when in mud, which if I build this right wont take long to get through. I could do the divider between the rear and front compartment to seal it back there. there will be no rear passenger seat. Didn't think about it being off camber and last couple gallons useless, good call. Should I run the steel braided lines all the way to the carb? | |

| You should be able to vet it outside no prob. Keep in mind those fitting are exspensive i priced them out at a couple hundred to run them in the zj. I ended up going with $10 in rubber hose and connected it to the old fuel lines. So if you don't mind spending the extra cash go for it. Will give the engine compartment more bling. | |

| When I use to have a hard top on mine it only smelled when I filled it up.
Since you have a carb you don't have the p.s.i. that a EFI would so rubber hose and hose clamps will work fine. | |

| Just about ready to order the fuel cell now. I'll be getting the RCI 2161A which I believe is the same one Joe bought. just wondering if I need fittings on the top of the fuel cell or will the rubber hose attach directly to the top of the cell. ALso what size hose is needed? | |

| you will need fittings to convert from -8an to a hose barb to go to carb. a -8an cap for the return (I don't think you need a return), and -8an to barb to put a hose on for vent. best but is to call when you're ordering, they were very helpfull when my brother ordered all his stuff. | |

| ordered my female -8 an fittings today, 1 for fuel, 1 for vent, 1 cap. also ordered a fuel pressure guage with in line adaptor, and a new fuel filter. Problem I was having was going from the -8 size which is 1/2" down to 5/16 at the fuel pump and 3/8 line to the carb. I think I have enough parts to figure it out now once it comes in. | |
