so if the avenger carb sucks ass when i finally get this thing together and spits and sputters on hills and such then what is the fix for it? Convert to fuel injection? Propane? just trying to plan ahead.

You can be running on a propane/ gas dual fuel system for under a grand. Is there a fuel injection system that is cheaper?

I was thinking that too. what are the chances of finding a junkyard FI system, computer etc for a 93 suburban? And for less than propane. We'll see but I'm having serious doubts from what I've been reading.

Is this what you are speaking of?
Whether you’re building from scratch, or replacing the induction system on your 1967-95 small block or 1965-95 big block Chevy motor, you can now top it off right with a complete Multi-port Fuel Injection (MPI) system from Howell Engine Developments.

MPI injection systems feature a fuel injector at each cylinder for maximum fuel delivery control, hot performance and fantastic fuel economy. That’s why you’ll find MPI on Chevrolet’s LS, LT and Vortec series engines right from the factory.

But don’t think that modern technology has to be complicated to install. With Howell’s comprehensive MPI system you get everything you need to completely transform your fuel system including an Edelbrock MPI manifold and throttle body, high flow fuel pump, GM distributor and coil, pre-programmed GM ECM, all necessary sensors and simple instructions.

And forget miles of unmarked wire, shoddy connectors and complicated schematics. Howell’s plug and play harnesses feature GM/Packard high temperature wire and Packard Weatherpack connectors, each clearly labeled for unmatched ease of installation. Just connect where indicated for a great looking system that works the first time you fire up the engine.

The Howell MPI ECM can be connected to any GM diagnostic tool to detect standard GM trouble codes, making any issue quick to find and easy to solve. This MPI System is one stop EFI at its best, exclusively from Howell Engine Development.

and propane.
4 barrel Holley, Edelbrock, Ford,Chevy,Mopar etc...with squarebore manifold. This is the most common intake pattern on most V6 and V8 4 barrel engines. Especially with aftermarket intake manifolds. This is propane only.

Our 4 barrel kits will fit any engine with a square bore intake pattern. This would be most any aftermarket intake manifold for Ford, Chevy, AMC, Dodge, etc. This is the same pattern as an Edelbrock or Holley carb. This is the kit recommended for all V6 and V8 engines. These can handle stock V6/V8 motors all the way up to a continuous 420hp.

These kits are designed for excellent low to high range operation. These kits run extremely strong, and in many cases the engine makes more power. This kit bolts on in about 3 hours for the average mechanic. Look for this kit to make a dramatic difference on your vehicle. Because of the high octane you can advance the timing a lot more. This setup is extremely easy to tune and keeps it's tune maintainance free for years at a time!
It works perfectly on stock and modified engines up to 420 H.P. motors as well.

Price:$1025.00 This includes a brand new throttle plate assembly and silicone upgrades. This bolts on in place of your existing carburetor. This price includes everything you'll need to do it right the first time. This kit has been upgraded internally from rubber to silicone parts, at least tripling the service life! As well as brand new throttle plates!
