| Well, here are some updates. Some quick cell phone pics. Still a lot left to do...but Kim, I guess, is coming up this weekend to get it even though there are some things to complete. Would have liked to have been able to get some drive time with it to test the suspensionm drive train, etc., but.....don't know if I'll be able to get that all done by this weekend. This was a 6 month build (probably would have been shorter but had to wait on some of the parts). https://s958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/chrmyr/Kim%20Buggy%20Build/ Thanks, Riley | |

| Looks great!! Kim, it's a shame your impatience is going to be a hindrance to the overall end product of a rig that had so much hard work and fabrication put into it. Chris is one talented mo fo, and you taking it before 100% completion is just mind boggling and kind of ungrateful if you ask me. It's just my .02 cents and I'm not trying to be insulting or start a fight, just felt the need to voice this. I just hope you realize the man hours and fabrication this rig has seen and the cost/time associated with a ground up custom chassis buggy. Hopefully you extended your thanks to Chris and those who helped at R&S. Oh yah and Chris, sweet Miata!! Is that why you got rid of your motorcycle? | |

| looks good chris but sometimes you just have to let your babies go even if you don't think there ready for the real world. trust me when I see both sides of the argument here. can't tell you how many times i was told just to wrap it up or take short cuts because a party was coming up and they wanted me out of there. Nick and rob remember its about the customer, with out them you would of not got the chance to build anything. | |

| This buggy is just another of proof of evidence that Chris and the boys at R&S have mad fab skills. Shame that chris wont be able to finish it. I just hope the next guy has his shit together and the credit for the work that Chris has done is given to the right person.
Joe it is true what you say and I come from the same back ground as you. The difference is we deliver a product that just sits there or has little real need of knowledge. Kim's buggy is a working machine that is built to do a task that will take a good mechanic when it breaks and time to learn to get a used to. When building something custom its not like going to the dealership. Your not ordering the options you want and they tell you what they have or when it will be here. This is CUSTOM!!!! it takes time. There are problems to solve, parts to find, not to mention hours of labor to make a product that shows as well as it performs. I guess thats the issue with custom work. Some see the value in letting the fabricator take his time and make it right the first time and not bringing a half ass product that will fail.
On the side of a business man its hard and sometimes almost impossible to please every customer. Most of them act and treat you like there product is there only job. When they see your shop and all your resources they think that its all for just them. Its hard to paint the picture that we live by taking on more than one task at a time and that not always making dead lines or waiting on something is a fact of life. Trust me life will go on and most of those customers that couldn't wait come back sorry that they passed off quality for speed.
Hey Chris, top notch work my friend.
Kim, do what you will cause its yours and good luck.
I know where I'm spending my money if I ever make millions or hit the lotto. | |

| one of my friends & i figured after about 2hrs back & forth through different calculators that they should be a 200 & 100 lb spring seems light to us though buggy weighed 3780 total with me in it 3/4 tank of fuel 2200 on front end 1600 on the back figuring the wieght differences in the axles theres about 50 to 100 lbs difference front to back | |

| mine is much heavier, close to 4700#. ended up swapping 300# springs for 250# on all for main springs. Tender springs were swapped out as well. front went from 200 down to 150 and rear down from 200 to 125. Problem I had in figuring the rates was i measured the shock angle at full compression. At ride height the angle was much less and thus the springs were way too stiff. hopefully with the lighter springs and the sway bar it should solve the ride issue, body roll issue and take out the slack in the springs so I don't loose another retainer. | |
