| Please tell me your using to materials for the control arms this time. You methods before have not worked the best in holding up to the beating they where given. | |

| word to the wise, make your links as strong and out the thickest material with the biggest joints you can get. i have run rockwells for just over 7 years now (this is my third vehicle i built using them) and until i ran big heavy material and joints i broke stuff like it was my job.
cheaping out on this stuff when running a heavy axle will only come back to bite you in the butt later, ask me how i know
good luck
if you need or want advice please let me know. like i said i have done this a few times using several different suspension designs over the years

| no, shane's joints did not look that good to me, the flex on the joint was terrible, only about 1/2 of a johnny joint in my opinion B-4 THEY BOTTOMED OUT ON THE MOUNTING TABS........i have the jonny joints in the front from my other buggy. and for the back i have large heim joints with misalignment spacers to use with a 5/8 bolt , if i do break anything, then i will upgrade later....but everything seems pretty good right now...........thanks for the nice info, i will ask if i run into problem or have a question ............................THE IDEA IS TO HAVE IT OUT FOR THE APRIL BIG DOGS RUN......................................WE WILL SEE. | |

| here are a couple more pics......it is just about time to start the rear axle if you look at it from the front the tip of the hub sticks out about 1 inch past the sidewall...this setup puts me at around 84 inches wide on the axle...... i am thinking of changing where i weld in the centers to give me about a 89 inch total width.......ANYBODY HAVE OPINIONS ON THIS, TOO WIDE? OR WHAT REMEMBER I WILL HAVE A 120 INCHES LONG WHEELBASE WITH REAR STEER........... inside pics.....going to be nice having everything at my fingertips (no more reaching for the shifter, etc.) | |

| for the life of me i can't remember how wide i am currently???? but 89" doesn't seem to wide, i am runnign rear steer as well and with 44 rockers, flipped hibs and 4" back spacing 114" wheel base my set up flat out works and i have nver had an issue of being "to wide" i will measure how wide i am later and get back to you, i need to measure anyway cause i want an enclosed trailer looks good so far, well everything but the bogger tires | |

| YJ is 83" wide with 99" wheelbase. CJ is about 86" wide with 117" wheelbase with 40" tires. these measures are from outside of tire to outside of tire. DIdnt' have to measure becuase my trailer is 83" wide and I know how much they run over the fenders. CJ would be a pain to wheel without rear steer and with a rear spool. | |

| thanks for all the input.....
i tried to sell my 38.5 boggers, but i did not get anyone to bite on them for 600.00..... so with money is the way it is i am forced to use them. (i really wanted to get the 42 inch rockers)
........THATS THE WAY IT GOES I GUESS......FOR NOW!
...HOW DO YOU LIKE THE 44 ROCKERS?...

| rockers work well, are they the best tire i have ever run? ???? well i guess they are pretty good, i like 47" ltbs' as well. i would actually like to run stickies but then again my rig is so heavy i would chew them up fast
you will def want a bigger tire when it all comes down to it. the ground clearance under a rock is actually very good after a mohawk (which i know you already have) but 38" boggers only measure like 36" tall or something like that?
