I leave to the OBX on Saturday so if there is anything you guys want me to scope out just let me know. I will be there all week and THE YJ IS FIXED !!!!!!!!!!! its on 37's and ready to roll.

yeah Danny there is a ton of pics but I keep leaving my digital at work. Its in the shop cause the speedo went out and with as busy as I am preping for vacation I have no time to work on it. But yeah I'm going to need to trim out the wheel wells after I get home from the beach. The tires clear nice on the street but not much room for flex. I'm going to try and get a set of tube fenders for the front and relocate the fender flares in the rear which also means I have to redo the my warn rock rails. So the fest has just began. The 8.8 swap and the new tires have brought new life to the rig and helped me get my mojo back.

Cool 12#. I heard that blood worms work great down there but those things are naaasty. Got my rod holder installed today. Used 2" PVC since I had some available. Also put an exhaust on the jeep so I don't get pulled over for being too loud. With the body lift none of my exhaust hangers lined up so I had to fab some new ones. Also the Crawler tank is wider than stock so I cut the tailpipe off and left it pointing down behind the rear axle.

This is going to be great. There is going to be a MOB of Jeeps.

Hey Kat I'm just going to bring my fishin rod and a small tackel box. That way Dave and just tell me what to buy.

Let me know what route you guys are taking down there. I'm coming from VA so I might be able to meetup with the group.

I'll be taking 15 south through Virginia to 17 south and then hitting 95 south just a couple miles north of Fredericksburg VA. If anyone knows where we can get that many vehicles near Fredericksburg to meet up then let me know. My father is a truck driver and lives in Fredericksburg area so I'll see what he thinks as well.

Hey bill you take the same way I do but I'm leaving early. If I remember right from Baltimore you take 301 down to 17 and then 17 to 64. I will be leaving Williamsburg thursday morning so if you guys want to meetup at 17 and 64 that would work with me.

Bobbi who are you wheeling with at Crozet? A bunch of the beltway jeepers are going to be down there.

I broke down in my YJ a few years ago on I95 in Fredericksburg at a rest stop. It was 9 pm on a Sunday - that was fun!
Anyway - point of the story there is a rest stop in Fredericksburg. We just need to figure out how to get around DC before rush hour on Thursday morning!

Yeah, looks like mapquest has you going around the DC beltway to hook up with 95. It has the trip at about 5 1/2 hours for me.

Couple things. First is the wife wants to know if she should buy our lunch stuff before we go down there or if there is a supermarket or something down there near the hotel. Next is we are considering driving to williamsburg wednesday night to split up the drive. SO, that would mean hooking up with the convoy at the same place as Nester.

HaHa - yeah its not that remote that there aren't any grocery stores or deli's around. We found a little store that sold to-go sandwhiches last year and took them with us out on the beach for lunch time. There are plenty of those kind of little mom-n-pop stores all over. There are plenty of Brew Thru's around too!

Hey Bill there are Three major stores on the highway which is behind the owens motel. There is also a outlet mall 300 yards from the hotel and like danny said brewthru is 5 miles up on 12.

Ok so now I'm getting excited about the trip. We will probably leave Frederick area around 5am to miss traffic. Noone mentioned what CB channel to use so I'll pick channel 15 unless someone has a reason not to. we tend to stop quite a bit so it's likely we will be hooking up with someone on the way down. we will be stopping for breakfast in Fredericksburg probably around 7:30 or 8.

Well I'm starting from Williamsburg Thursday morning. I'm thinking about towing the jeep down with my buddies Tow Dolly so I might not wait for you guys to catch up. I know that Bill and Kat are speed demons. But I'm all ready to go I just need to pick up my Rear driveshaft and bolt in the new seats. This is going to be alot of fun.

My Dad and Uncle are also leaving from Williamsburg on Thursday morning. They are leaving D.C. Wednesday after work.

I'm leaving Thursday morning and heading down Rt 301 to 17 and taking that into Hampton Roads.

I'll keep the CB on Ch 15 as well.

Good call on the fishing license. I wouldn't want to find out the "hard way" about that. There is a Wal-Mart on the right just as you enter the Outer Banks if you want to stop on the way in to buy the license.
