| OK new plan for now. the boggers I want are $1,201 shipped for 4 of them. OUCH! I'm going to take an IROC off one of my beadlocks and have it installed on the H2 rim to check for fitment. I'd be pissed if I bought the tires and found out later that I could have run 39's. | |

| Today I cleaned up the front axle and scraped the 1/4" of greasy dirt off the axles. also cleaned up the hubs and other small parts that will be reused. Also removed the front D44 axle from the CJ. Started getting ready to reassemble the front 60. I placed the BTF bumper and shackle hanger on the front to see what it would look like. In this picture it looks like the front is done and the back is yet to be done but it is just the opposite. I removed the 4" lift springs and put flat YJ springs on the rear spring over. The front of the CJ did not come with a bumper. You can see the old shackles hanging. Front axle was removed. Blue Torch Fab full width kit includes a new bumper which is where the shackles hang. I paid extra for tube work and for D-ring hangers. These are the axles that came out and are for sale. | |

| I can't do much else on it until I get the kingpin and spindle rebuild kit and the high steer arms. I'll be working on the YJ around 10 on saturday to fix the arb AGAIN, and get another nut on the belt system. Sunday is caseys birthday so I'll be spending the day with him fishing and he has a party in the afternoon. | |

| Picked up my H2 rims today. $300 for a set of 4 with a new set of breakaway valve stems and drilled out to fit the Ford D60's. Sweet deal. ALso disassembled the IROKs from the beadlocks, well at least started. I removed all 32 bolts on each wheel and got tired. Had to take apart the YJ rear again for the arb. | |

| Axle was flipped to access lower bearing area. Insert grease cap, it just slides right in. view from top looking down on grease cap. Next insert bearing race and drive it in square until seated. Pack the bearing with grease and drop it in. next is the lower grease seal, tap it in place until flush. Flip the axle back over slip kingpin grease seal down over kingpin. Hook the knuckle on and let it drop in place. bushing goes over kingpin only one way since it is keyed. Lower cap just slides up into place and bolts on. Thread the studs into place. Stick new high steer arm into place. slide spring retainer and spring into hole. Slide high steer arm cap into place. Use a C clamp to compress spring and get the nuts started. Kingpin complete. Repeat on other side. Also replaced the spindle bearings. they came out easliy with the bearing puller. The new bearings tap into place and the seal slips in behind it. | |

| Looks like the drivers side in stock configuration has a bottom plate that is curved to go around the webbing of the housing and the ubolts point down. I have 3 options for mounting pictured below. I think I'll be using the plates I posted earlier and drill a hole through the webbing. This is the drill through option. This is the stock configuration. the special plate was discontinued years ago and would require some searching. This is the grind enough webbing away to make it fit option. | |

| Bill,
I still have the mounting plates for the YJ handy that you gave me a long time ago if that would help out in mounting the axle. Let me know if you need em and I'll get em to ya. | |

| no, not needed but I appreciate the offer. I went with the MORE plates shown somewhere earlier in this post. they allow offset center pin and the larger ubolts. | |

| Front axle is now assembled including the disc brakes minus the drag link and tie rod. Next is mounting the front axle with 2" stretch with waggy springs and the BTF hardware. Was crawling around under there and noticed the motor mounts look like crap. one piece of metal with booger welds. | |

| Ok I get all day tomorrow to work on the CJ and put together a soft top for the YJ. front suspension and axle are going in! Just thought I'd keep everyone updated since Joe has twice as many pages as me on his build. | |

| glad you are there for me Joe. at least it is a jeep pulling me home and not one of them other kind of vehicles. Today I mounted the Iroks from the YJ on the Hummer wheels for the CJ. Took about 2 hours by hand, been awhile since I've done that. Also mounted the frame side spring hangers for the front suspension and welded them in. Messing with the soft top took about 3 hours of my day but at least I know all the parts are there and the top is in good condition. | |

| So a 44 and 9 inch combo huh? My dad wants to change a few things on his rig and I think this might work for him! He wants to beef up the steering and brakes mainly and I suggested not sticking money in anything touching a Dana 30 and to just do a swap for bigger brakes and then upgrade the steering setup. | |
