| Looks like I'm putting a new clutch in. The last one was a stock clutch from Salvos. Any one has any other suggestions. This clutch doesn’t have more than 5,000 miles on it. I know they were hard miles should I get something better. Also how many times can you resurface a fly wheel? It was done when I put the clutch in the last time. | |

| I have a centerforce and it's been in my rig for about 6 years now and it looked like brand new when I just had the trans out and rebuilt and new external slave cylinder. That's pretty impressive considering most of it's life was spent off road. Although it shouldn't matter in your case, I think it's good to bring up that the Centerforce and ax15 slave cylinders do not get along very well. This would explain the 4 I went through in the early years with Pep Boy specials - the mopar replacement seemed to do the trick and was still fine but i decided to swap for the external since i had the trans out for the rebuild.
I don't mean to stray from the topic here but Bill, I know you said you wanted to blead your slave/clutch, however, the external slave factory replacement is pre bled. I forget your reason? did you have a low pedal or what? My clutch doesn't seem to be releasing so I don't know if I got a bad slave but if i'm in 4 lo 1st gear with the clutch in the jeep will still go. What gives? It's a bitch to put it in gear and it seems to be getting progressively worse. The flywheel didn't seem to be in bad shape either upon visual inspection - everything looked great.

| locked and loaded Your slave/master cylinder is leaking. check for fluid dripping from the slave or down the firewall next to the master cylinder. If you push on the pedal acouple of times, does the pressure build back up.
You can actually bleed the external slave cylinder. There is a bleeder screw (allen) on the slave.

| Negative. Slave and master cydliner are new (doesn't mean it's functioning properly, but it's not leaking )- trust me, i've been through slave cylinders enough by now to now when that is f'ing me, lol. | |
