Allright got the axel under the jeep. Everything is tacked of now so I have to go back through and put the monster bead on everything.

good looking work Joe. That thing is starting to shape up.

I modded my ebrake cable the same way. comming along great. Are you going to be working on the jeep next sunday I should be able stop by and lend a hand.

Thanks everyone, its feeling good to actually see the thing shaping up. yea I have to swap in the other grands e cabels because this one came with drums instead of disc because it was a 93. As for next weekened i'm swapping the motor over, so any help I could get would be appreciated.

Joe, I was following the cage build of a guy in another club and Lt Dan said something that made good sense with trying to weld the top of the cage without setting the interior ceiling on fire.

"for the easiest way to weld it use a holesaw to cut holes that will let you drop the cage through the floor so that you can get the top as well,after you complete the upper welds you raise the cage , and then weld your footplates in place."

actually thats a good idea to get a full bead all the way around. I'm not to worried about setting anything on fire inside because everything has been gutted down to the metal

All right got the jeep back down on all four tires. Some of the welding needs to be finished up but the majority of it is finished.



Now when I put the jeep back down on the ground I relized I had a problem in that the damn thing sets level without the motor and arb. I didn't relize the the brackets in the back were going to give me 2" - 3" more lift. I relize once I put all the gear in it will drop a 1" or so but i'm still going to have to run some spacers up front to level it out some. so i'm guessing this is going to put me around 7" to 8" of lift wich is about right with 36" tires seeing I was rubbing pretty good at full flex at 6"

after having some bad weather and running into some other problems I wasn't able to get the motor swaped over last weekend so it looks like come hell or high water i'm going to do it tomorow.

Also as a side note, my tube bender came in yesterday

I'm heading to PG county this weekend to work on the YJ.... I have to get it out of my parents driveway and send it through emissions soon. If I get back to Baltimore while its still daylight I'll stop over to supervise!

Today was a good day, the v8 I swaped in turned over and started up

as of now I'm going to try to have it ready for big dogs minus the back being cut off and the roll cage installed.

good maybe we can run some of the harder trails since everyone is wussing out.

as long as i can make it, im down for the tuff shit, 9's 10's whatever. otter is making my driveshafts this week, i should have it completely finished in 2 weeks.

no hard trails because it would suck if I rolled with out a cage and had to start over again

I don't mind running hard stuff but this run is a shakedown run for me in prep for RCrocs. I havent run it hard since making all the changes and want to work out all the bugs. I'll be running with Joe and take it easy but not too easy. depends on the rain as well.

i'm just wondering if any one was going to have some free time this weekend to give me a hand on the jeep. I have a bunch of little stuff that needs to be done so I can try to do a lite shakedown run on it next sat. Beer and good food will be supplied as always

I'd like to but the cage is going in this weekend, still need to fab frame mounts at 5 spots and do seats, harnesses etc.

no prob, Cant wait to check out this cage of yours in person.

I got the rear axel finished up this weekend with the suck down winch. i like the idea now of being able to go from 9" to 5" of lift.







Still have to weld a pully up so i can double back the winch on itself but with the single line pull it worked pretty well.

Nice, your doing one heck of a job on this.

okay got the computer in today, pluged it into the jeep and it fired right up
