| all right I drove the jeep around the block. The motor seemed strong, no hesitation in spinning the 36's. Also there's nothing like the sound of a v8, it turns some heads when you drive down the street. The tranny shiffted kind of funny but as long as I have first gear i'm happy. i'll know more thur when I take it down the shop thur and begin to flex it out with the machine and under its own power. | |

| I have to make some new upper control arms for the rear. I'm kind of new to building control arms but i'm guessing the parts list would be as follows. 1.25 - 12 tpi tube adapter 2.63 flex joint with 9/16 hole with 1.25 stud 2.63 flex joint with 9/16 hole tube to fit tube adapter if i'm pricing this right off of ballistic fabs site, each control arm would be around $100 or so. Does this sound right? | |

| DOM 1.75 x .250 tubing is about $12 a foot and would have inside diameter of 1.25 for the tubing adapters. tube adapters about $14 each,, jam nuts about 2-4 each, joints are around 20 for cheapees, 35 and up for the better ones. Also need misalignment spacers. Check out https://www.spydercustoms.com/index2.php poison spyder site. also check polyperformance.com | |

| i'm just going to let this one go anyway I cut the steel today with my torches for the TC skid plate. I'm hoping to try to weld it together tomorow. If I can get it welded together in time i'll probly run some harder trails sunday if the rig is still in one piece since I wont have to worry about landing on the tc though its getting swaped out anyway. | |

| well after its debut at big dogs i relized that the jeep has a bunch of little design flaws. Though the jeep did okay making it down a few of the harder trails it didn't do it as smoothly as i wanted it to. Some of the problems I ran into was that the jeep sits to tall really messing up my cog. 4 link needs to be tweaked to steady up body. rear winch needs to be moved into the body to allow more up travel. exuast needs to be addressed, though it does sound bad ass I would like to fix the leak up front to adress the lack of back pressure and overly loud sound. plus the issue of the header hanging down in harms way of rocks. Also the motor kept over heating and loosing power. I understand it was 95 + and it only did it when I was working it, but still we cant be having this. So I'm guessing this weekened will begin the next phase of the build. list in not any particular order -cut back off -weld in new floors with internal tool boxes -weld in cage -install oba -install 231 with 4 to 1 and sye or atlas depends on funds -install 60's front and back -lights for those night runs -rear bumber/winch -install suck down winch in body -hydro steering -address motor issues with cooling Im guessing there's alot i'm missing but i'm hopping to do this in stages so as to still be able to make runs with it through the build process. I'm looking to have the cage, floor in by next month. this way I can make the jeep show and represent the zjs. I think there was only two people last here that had them on anything larger then 33's and then only a hand full of us had long arms. Anyway I guess sat. i'll be cutting of the back of the jeep if anyone wants to stop by and help sawzaw the thing up I bet the neighbors are really think i'm crazy when they see me doing this. | |

| Also I began to work on the floor to get it ready weld in the tool/storage area. What I want to do is take the area where the rear seats were and make that the storage area. Kind of how it was when the seats were in but bigger. I'm going to weld in a piece of steel along the sheet metal that was underneath the rear seat and make it the same height as the rear cargo area. Then when I refloor the cargo area i'm going to take the metal all the way cross to connect with other metal I welded in. this way it makes a box which I will cut a door in on the top and add some hinges. this way I can store air tools and axels and stuff out of the way and I dont have to worry about them bouncing around in a roll over. | |

| had someone send me a pic of this yesterday I really like the way it protecs the body in a flop or light roll over but at the same time does not look like a jungle jim. I was thinking about doing something like this then in the back going internal so as to be able to mount the spare on the roll cage. which would kind of look like this minus the spare. | |
