well After getting the wheeling itch today I decided to take the rig out for test run today. With out the cage being in I decided to not to mess with anything that could put me in a roll over situation. Ie no off camber hill climbes. Didn't get many pics but the jeep did great, hell i came down hard on one of the side rockers and it didn't even fall off 9 I was able to do stout with out even having to back up one time mbn

The rig looks great.
I like that you opted to keep the luggage racks up top!

Okay well good luck. If you have the hookups you could make it happen. The more you do the harder is gets. I love driving mine on the street. Nothing like pulling in to the gas station and everyone is looking like your on another planet.

Bill quick question for you, how did you mount you tube notcher to use it. Did you go with the vise method horizontal, or vertical? Or did you mount it on a stand?

I actually did not mount the notcher. I put the tubing in a vice and clamped the notcher to the tube in the position I needed and it worked great.

just in case some people didn't relize this, bending tube with a manual bender sucks. So far I have over 12 hrs tied up and only have the B and C pillars bent. Lucky for the internal part of the cage I only have two more easy bends to go and the rest are straight cuts. cheers So I should have the internal cage finished for our run next sat and have the external cage finished in time for Big Dogs mbn

All right got some work done on the cage.

The Resurection Project - Page 9 Cage3
Before I get flamed on how high did the rear x. i did it so when i mount the spare tire on it, I will still be able to see under the tire and out the back when I need to back up.
Started to work on the B hoop but ran out of time before I could finish welding in all the bars.
The Resurection Project - Page 9 Cage4
Yes I know this is kind of a getto way to build a cage but I don't have a garage to work out of.
The Resurection Project - Page 9 Notcher
a couple of previews of how its going to look for the internal cage.
The Resurection Project - Page 9 Cage5
The Resurection Project - Page 9 Cage6
I had an extra magnet of one of my skid steers laying around and figured I'd throw it on the jeep so it could be a tax write off. I still have a lot of triangulating to do and i have take apart the rear cage so I can weld a 4x4 plates to the bottom of the pillars but it seams like its comming together. But i'll tell you what that notcher makes life real easy. I had to use a grinder to notch the middle bar on the B pillar and it sucked. Not only did it take to long, it wasn't perfect.
