| I'm planning on saturday as well if it still works for you. I should have the new ARB seals in tomorrow and will put it all together then and track down the front end clunk as well on thurs. should be ready to go then. If you choose not to go wheeling I will not be upset since all my parts are in for the CJ and the axle is ready to go in. I'm getting excited about getting this thing together but just don't have enough time. | |

| To be honest this will probly be the last time I'm out before big dogs so I was kind of looking forward to it. But Its not a prob if you don't feel like going. I know you don't want me to have to pull you home again with a tow strap As for nick, if he has to work sat, I guess we can push it back to sunday. At least this would give one more day to tie up some loose ends. Loose ends - finish hooking up OBA - cut 8 4x4 plates for bottom of tube -tie B pillar into frame -notch last two tubes on B pillar -full weld cage -reweld shock x member -weld in tie down points to floor -fab 8.8 skid -rear suck down winch | |

| Ok so this week I would really be cramming to get things done for wheeling sat and in prep for jeeps on the beach. I think I'll skip this weekend, can't wheel sunday, and get the jeep in good order. | |

| Allright after taking the rig out and pushing the limits with it. you know your pushing the limits when dent a 3/8" skid plate. I.E.D. plate 5, rocks 0 But in the process I was able to shake out alot of problems that need to be addressd for Big Dogs. 1. The jeep cant make hard left turns, But can make a hell of a right turn. After Looking at it with Grason And Jr for awhile we relized what was causeing this prob. The track bar I have is to short. Its throwing off the axel to the right by almost 2" Its adjustable but I have it adjusted all the way out so it looks like i'm going to have to cut it and add 3" to it. 2. The 249 tc I had finally crapped out. Id expected this to happen and was surprised it lasted this long. I have a 242 laying around that I need swap the 249 input gear into and that prob should be fixed. Best of all I'll finally have 2wd again. 3. The gearing on this thing sucks. But seeing that Some time before spring I'll be swapping in D60's I'll just have to live with it. 4. Bent Arb bummper not really sure why it bent up, It wasn't that hard of a hit so I'm thinking maybe some loose bolts or something. If it is bent i'll just take a winch or something to bend it back down a little. Anyway I'll post up some video and pics a little later. | |

| thanks bill, but i messed up a bit when I was welding the front bolts on. I left to much play in between the front bar and diff which alowed the skid to shift back about 2" or so. So I took the winch and bent it back and i'll cut off the front bolts and move them closer to the diff to get the play out. | |

| all right with three weeks till big dogs I guess i'm under the gun to get this damn thing ready. first on the hit list was to get the front axel centered under the jeep by extending the front track bar which was extended all the way out. figured I would plug the tube with some solid round stock then put another tube over top of it for added strength. Then I had to extend the shift rail on the x-fer case so i could go through all the ranges. then I han to cut out some of shifter bracket to allow the xfer case to go into 2wd. Also got the bracket fabed up to bolt inside the cab for the suck down winch. I know the 3/8" steel is a little over kill but it was free. The welds are starting to look alot better. final product One more thing done on the check list 200 more to go. | |

| All right began ripping the rear of the jeep apart after dropping the tank I decided to hell with I'm not putting it back in. i'm going to go with tthe fuel cell. Now the question Is what fuel cell to go with. i'm looking for something that is almost plug and play, i.e. dropping in the fuel pump from the old tank running a few lines and having the thing work. I need to to keep the tank smaller then 24"L x 12"W x 16" T I'm guessing this will put me in the 10 to 15 gallon range. Any suggestions on were to look for a fair price on something like this? | |

| Joe I would search the ZJ boards and see what others have used. I know that summit has them in all sizes. Oh and is that the same welder your using or did you get a new one? | |

| so maybe the RCI 2161 fuel cell from summit? http://www.tombraiderjeep.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=4
Length (in): 30.000 in. Width (in): 9.000 in. Height (in): 12.000 in.
it is commonly used in the YJ and don't know if it will work but though I'd throw it out there. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=RCI%2D2161A&N=700+400379+4294920243+115&autoview=sku

| If you are going to reuse the stock sending unit the hight of the tank has to be the same as the stock tank or atleast close. not sure what the sending unit looks like in a zj but you might be able to use one of these http://kore4x4customs.com/asccustompages/products.asp?categoryid=15 | |

| Hmmm i was trying to keep the length under 24" but 30" may just fit in between the roll cage on the right side. Now how does this thing work, do I use my current pump or does it come with one?
nester as for the welder its grasons, it runs off a 220v so it lays alot better bead on the thicker stuff.

| The one that bill posted is the one that I am useing. The sending unit sits about a 1 1/2 above the bottom but it hasn't been a problem. | |

the sending unit is the exact same as the 4.0 except for an extra vent hole on top the pump.
