| I'm probly going to go with the mad roster just because another guy on my zj board had some good experinces with him while others had a hard time with the box for rocks guy. As for the block off plate I was just thinking about getting someone who could weld aluminium and just weld the hole shut unless you all think I would be better off trying to come up with some bolt on plate. As for the scedual I have a stand by driveline that I can throw in to run if the doubler kit doesn't work out in time. Also has anybody here had any first hand experince on rebuilding a motor? This is the next step in the project that will be tackeled towards the end of the month. Ive seen it done on tv and have some info on how to do it but some Vetern help would be appreciated.
Bill sound good, I heard that the tube bender was back ordered for a month or so. I'm going to check on a ship date for it and try to get the tube and bender to come around the same time.

| you have to weld the block off plate in on both kits, but the box4rocks kit comes with it. the shop or who ever you get to weld it in should have a piece of aluminum that will work. I plan on starting working on it this week end so I will let you know how it goes. | |

| cool let me know how it goes because i'll probly need a hand with mine. Also what are you going to do about your drive shaft. On my rig its not to much of an issue because my driveshaft is so long, but on yours I can see that being a real problem. | |

| the 300 is so short that it only puts it about 2in lonnger then what I have now. last year I streched the wheel base about 4in and I have no threads showing on the control arms so I still have room for another three if need be. | |

| Talked to the scapemetal guy yesterday to see if he could get me some plates of steel for skid plates. He said he had something but it would cost me a hundred. I told that was fine as long as it was quailty steel. The man came back with a 4' x 8' x 3/8" thick plate of steel I was like damn, I guess i'm good to go for the skid plates now. He also said he could get some more but not quite as big if anyone else needed some solid steel plate for skids. | |

| Ok so I did it anyway. I ordered a bender as well because there are 2 cages I need to build and tube fenders for the front etc. don't know how long it will take for delivery. I'm going to get some measures on my current cage tomorrow and figure out how much DOM I will need according to my plan. I plan on driving up on thursday to buy the DOM since I will be up that way with the trailer to drop off the CJ. If you would like I can buy yours too and hold onto it until the Nester party and collect for it then. whatever works for you, just let me know. | |

| If you could grab it I would appreciate it. what I can do is soon as I get a chance i'll swing down your way and pick it up and drop off some cash. This way if I can start on the cage a little sooner I will. Also who did you order the bender through? | |

As far as the tubing let me know how many 18' sticks you need and I'll pick it up on thursday.

| Bill I guess i'm going to go with 8 lengths. I talked to a couple other people who have put cages in zj and they all said they used around 100'. So i'm guessing 144 should be enough for cage, doors, and mistakes.
Also I was thinking about going with this company for the bender. http://www.medfordtools.com/mb3.html 295 for the bender and 260 for the die. handel is included in the price but delivery is 2-3 weeks and will run around $30.

| I'm going up thursday and will pick up 8 lenghts for you. My plan calls for about 107' or 6 lengths. I will get 8 to account for screw ups and will pick up 2 lengths for Randy Wood as well. | |

| well yesterday I picked up a 8.8 with 3.73 gears and open carrier So it looks like i'll be able to start on installing the rear suspension this weekened if everything goes smoothly. I also took a page out of bills book and made a list of what I need to get done before Big dogs. After looking at the list i'm starting to wonder why I don't just fish for a hobby. Things that have to be done for the rig to run: 1. install rear longarms with fourlink conversion 2. build 8.8 to work with fourlink A. install lockrite 3. install 350 brakebooster A. hook up new brakelines 4. V8 drive line A. pull driveline and harness out of donor vehical B. rebuild motor C. install new harness D. install driveline 5. install exaust pipe 6. install sliders 7. Install seats 8. install ARB bumper 9. trim finders and pinch seams Now for the list of stuff that also needs to be done: 1. 231/300 doubler A. new tc shifters B. twinstick on the 300 2. cutting brake controls 3. cut the back of jeep off 4. weld in cage 5. weld in new floor in back of jeep 6. herculine lower half of jeep 7. install tube fenders 8. make/install front tube doors 9 install cb 10. fab up new skid plates 11. fab up skid for 8.8 with pinion gaurd 12. lights for night run 13.wiring for rear winch hook up 14. daul batteries 15. hook up OBA system from old jeep 16. shakedown run to find out all the things I overlooked and screwed up. But wait it gets better, now stuff I have to do to her rig: 1. fab up new rear CA to make them about 4" to 5" longer then stock 2. install my old 8.8 3. fix pinion sheild on front axel 4. trim pinch seams 5. fix broken antena and radio 6. install cb i'm guessing I need around 90 man hours to finish the list, hmmmm that boat and fishing rod are sounding better everyday. | |
