Jeeps On the Beach - August 9-12, 2007

Looks like the trouble-making crew from Big Dogs is gathering again for a rockin' good time on the beach. Any chance this will resemble, at all, a family friendly outing?

Absolutely. Elva is the family friendly police and will help keep me in line while the boys are present. She looks forward to some nice relaxing days on the beach. Boys look forward to playing in the sand.

We'll all be in the West Building. There is a pool and a grill on the property:cheers: so after bouncing around in the Jeeps all day we'll have plenty of family friendly things to do in the evening!
They have plenty of rooms available, but several are blocked off for a wedding and several are blocked off for expedia and hotels.com. Hey Danny what time of on the 9th are you guys heading down. I'm thinking I mightjust go down there late on the 8th and crash somewhere half way. Willamsburg and spend the morning there and meet up with you guys down there? If you guys have a very different path I will head down on wednesday night and be there when you guys get there. Hopefully the wrangler will be in one piece by then. This going to be so kick ass. Jeeps, Beach, Fishing, No work for 4-5 day I can't wait.

Is this a club members only even? I'm trying to get Eric Orr to come down for this and maybe a couple other Jeep people that I know that might be interested. How many of you guys are bringing tow rigs and trailers and the whole mess? This is going to be great.

I will be towing the jeep down there. its a 6 hour trip and thats too far for me to drive the heep iwth the family.

The invitation is open to all! My dad, uncle and Brother-in-law are all bringing their jeeps down. The more the merrier.

Last year I drove down from Ocean City through the Bay Bridge Tunnel and it was nice - scenic and no traffic. Coming from NOVA you'll prob be better off heading south on 95

Yeah the ride is real nice until you try it with a wife and 2 kids with an itty bitty bladder.

I'll call Owens and ask about the parking situation. Chances are it'll involve disconnecting the trailer and using 2 spots.

As for the rigs coming in my group there will be 2 YJ's, my TJ and possibly a GC if my brother-in-law can pry the keys away from my sister!

I called Owen's about the trailer parking situation. The front desk said that if there isn't room to park the tow rig and trailer on the Westside where we are staying then we can use the restaurant parking lot right across the street.

Yeah I stopped by there this weekend to introduce myself and the club. The lady at the desk pointed out the the back lot of the resturant and said your welcome to park them out back if you need to. Its plenty of space and the court yard is the really nice. Safe for the jeeps and the kids. The only way you can enter is from beach road (route 12) and its a closed off. The hotel makes a U to form the court yard. Emily looked please to see it was a nice looking hotel so Hopefully the inside was as nice as the outside.
